Your response fails. I've played them and the biggest difference in all the games is probably from Mario kart64 to Mario kart double dash(Mario kart64 was just like a 3d version of super Mario kart). Everything else in all three series are pretty much exactly the same.

FPS have far evolved Goldeneye in terms of controls on consoles. the controls for goldeneye are atrocious at this point.

The gameplay for console shooters has gotten more fluid, more tactical, more competitive(online), has better production values, some have good stories(Halo,) some have funny stories(time splitters), some have great stories(half life)

Goldeneye has beeen surpassed. So has Halo Combat evolved from last gen and halo 2. The current console shooter king is Halo 3 until dethrowned either next gen or maybe this gen.

Good point.....All I can say is if it's fun, then I will buy it and enjoy it. In fact I call this era the Rehash, and sequels....Pokemon DnP came out, Halo 3 released, and for the others, Gears of War 2, GTA IV, Saint's Row 2, Mario SMG, Mario and Sonic at the Olympics....etc...

thats why i didnt care for Mario 64 and double dash. or did i care for mario party 2 and beyond. nor did i care for smash bros for the gc. The last good mario adventure game for me was Super Mario world(SNES) Mario 64was lame.

What an idiotic thread. I literally just played Goldeneye 10 minutes ago to see how it compared to Halo 3. Needless to say, Halo 3 was leaps and bounds better than Goldeneye.

Somebody tell Reggie that once you played one Mario platformer, you've played them all. Those are much more similiar that the FPSs of '98 to the FPSs of '07.

I guess he has a point in that a lot of FPS's are similar, and that the 360 is over-saturated with them. However, he's totally forgetting the fact that Nintendo puts out a Mario Party game every year, and that there are tons of similar games in all their major series. Plus, the Wii is (sadly) over-saturated with shoddy casual games.
