Hopefully it turns out well. But the way its looking after the story is done there will be little left to do in the game.

Not sure what'll get one GameSpot, but I think it will average around an 80/100 on MetaCritic. I can see it getting a spectrum of reviews, like some saying it's a 10/10 and praise it for its production values and art design, some saying it's a 6/10 harping on play itself linear moments and QTEs they refuse to call QTEs and maybe pixel/frame counter critics that will hate it for the black bars, then probably a bunch somewhere in between.
As I've said before. I really like the setting, and the graphics. But the game play really looks dull. It seriously looks more like it would've been a fantastic cgi movie than a game. And that's the main thing that disappointed me about this game since the 1st gameplay trailer was revealed. I feel like there's some wasted potential here. Anyway..., the trailer seemed to show more gore, which I liked a lot. Hopefully the story is good. The Order, unfortunately, looks like it will be a good ride for 1 play through, I hope i'm wrong. Possibly a rental.
@gpuking: wow so true. Hermits are like walkers, scavaging scraps from higher forms of life
PC consistently has the best library of any platform, by far. So if PC fans are scavengers, what would that make you exactly?
Haha don't kid yourself, your slew of indie games or bargain bin 2d cheapos don't count. and then the multiplats always suffer from under optimization, drivers problems or simply unplayable day zero. You have a library of broken mess, niches and console left overs. Just be glad those pirate scums haven't ruined what little remaining pc devs around.

This.
Most of those games don't count or are far far worse ports. And none of them even compare to The Order.

In your opinion. I hate all the MMO's and super geeky games on the pc. I prefer console gaming. Pc scrubs love to play games that you have to micro manage. No thanks

This times 100x.
The more fun games are basically on Consoles, and with better graphics.
started watching but it was giving too much away so I stopped.
sick of overlong trailers, particularly at the cinema. some of them are so long, I feel like i dont need to ever watch the movie. I can't believe market research shows 3 minute trailers are a good idea.
Teaser trailers are much more interesting.
Same. I really wonder how the gameplay is. The thing is so cinematic in nature that it probably uses film technique for storytelling through and through. This can also mean that, if the game is in the 10 to 15 hour mark, it will have more gameplay than people think as film scripts generally run around two hours.
Linear gameplay on 2/3 of your screen, sounds like a ton of fun.
Not really great graphics but a third of your screen gone to get your graphics better / 10
the order and driveclub pummel pc software into goo, jesus christ!
The Order and DC don't have competition though. There is no TPS or racer on PC that isn't built around the PS3/360. So there is no wonder why these games are wowing us. It's the first time the genre has been able to show us what DX11 hardware can really do without the 360 and PS3 holding it back.
The question is, why isn't this fact more well known? And why is it hard for some to accept?
The third person shooter genre started on PC with Max Payne. Regardless of the first 2 games age it is still the best example of the genre. In fact, Max Payne 3 is still quite PC-centric considering it is nearly impossible to properly play the game with a gamepad without soft or hard aim assist (which disables achievements and has restrictions in MP).
Still don't get the Gears of War comparisons, much less Uncharted.
It looks like Resident Evil 6 imo.
Extremely close camera, slow paced movement, heavy use of button prompts for any form of environmental interaction, including melee attacks. The camera doesn't even pan out further when you go into cover to give a larger FOV.
GeOW and UC emphasize movement, sprinting, slidding into cover, going from point to point, inside a small area. but large enough for sandboxy gameplay, abit. Elements such has melee combat, platforming, barrel rolling, etc are present (not all in the same game obviously).
This trailer was the first time we've seen Galahad sprint properly, yet, it's not the default running speed the game uses.

Jet Force Gemini on the N64 came out way before Max Payne, if I remember correctly.

they reckon 10 if you explore every nook and cranny (which i will).
thats fine with me, some games like Dragon age (which was my GOTY) just seem overlong some times. not everything needs to go on for days and days.
alien isolation was criticised by some for having several points where it could have ended, i enjoyed it all though
I prefer it most of the time. People seem to think casual equates to shallow, all the time. I generally prefer shorter games now. I don't have time to sit through a Dragon Age. I'd rather finish a story heavy game in a week than have it go on and on where i'm losing interest and then have time to play it again, sort of thing. I think this is why Mario continues to do so well. The games can be enjoyed by everyone and the story is more user driven than game driven.

sounds like you're getting ready for some serious damage control
@SolidGame_basic: Eh, maybe so i guess. But i take then, you and the rest of your cows friends will be hyping this an 8, or maybe a 9, in the hype review thread, right?
The game's presentation has never been questioned. This trailer merely confirms everything we already knew: that the game looks great, but that the gameplay is worrying.

I like Max Payne. But Alan Wake pretty much destroys it over all. Any way, my point is that there is no TPS or racer on PC that isn't built around the PS3/360 or lower.
Alan Wake is freaking horror game. Max Payne 1 still has the best level design in any TPS in existence.
"Destroy" ? All you freaking do in Alan Wake is point a flash light at things and shoot them. One of the most boring combat systems I've seen in a game.

It really isn't. I know it's pulling a jankar here but PC has the widest selection of the highest scoring games year in and year out. That's just a fact. You crybabies can plug your ears and pretend certain games don't count, but they do, and you'll have to accept it.

Explain to me which game actually seems better than The Order, and then show me pictures of it with better gfx....

Well in my opinion Crysis 3 and Ryse on PC both look better thanks to much higher resolutions, framerates, and general image quality. But that's besides the point because your shitposting is specifically calling out general game quality, and on that front I can think of several games on PC or even Wii U in the last year that I'd much, much rather play. That doesn't even include upcoming titles.

I think it has a shot at an 8 here, let the hype begins
Oh great! Another "protagonist is disillusioned by his own organization and switches sides" narrative wrapped in a tired "elitism/supremacy/oppression/discrimination/intolerance" rehash.
And I had such high hopes.

When Char made the most anticipated games of 2015 thread how come 0 PC exclusives got nominated?
How come PC hasn't hasn't managed to obtain a single exclusive GOTY in over 10 years?
Here is the reality, since 'best' is an opinion to begin with, in arguments you can only go off an agreed upon base (GS) or popular/majority opinion.
My point is that neither the agreed upon base (GS) nor popular opinion agree that the "best" games are on PC. The "everything is best on PC" banner is simply fanboy mumbo jumbo to make people who spend excessive amounts on money on hardware to make multiplatform games look better than consoles feel better.
If the PC isn't getting the BEST (most anticipated, most awarded, best scoring and majority opinion able to win GOTY) games, then it's silly to say it has the best library. When PC starts getting exclusives that get the kind of praise and scores that high profile nintendo and Sony exclusives get, then you can start to talk about PC as the best when it comes to games.

How does getting GOTY mean you have the best library in a given year? The sad reality is that consoles get maybe 2 games worth talking about in a year, and one of them just so happens to be GOTY. PC constantly gets a larger number of quality games, and the best versions of multiplats INCLUDING multiplat GOTYs. I mean seriously, if you're playing Skyrim on a console, you might as well punch yourself in the face for everything you've denied yourself.
You're in a sad state of denial if all you can hide behind is a single system wars thread (which DID include PC title nominations by the way including tides, SC, and PoE) and your GOTY's. PC's library is more diverse, and includes more high scoring games. You didn't even deny that, which is rather telling.

But that wasn't what I was talking about. I meant that TPS is noww more of a console genre. You couldn't imagine TLOU type games on PC.
What ? Every third person shooter that isn't exclusive to a company comes out on PC and you can't "imagine" it ? Max Payne, Splinter Cell, Just Cause, Mass Effect, Metal Gear etc. every sort of third person game comes out on PC. Fewer games are PC centric. But they are realesed nonetheless. PCs are also custom machines. There are no big toy companies like Sony and MS to hold their games hostage (Naughty Dog does not need Sony's funding).
Nothing special about that trailer. The game's previous presentations have been so underwhelming that a bit better trailer have made people excited. Environments are still blurry and gameplay looks boring. Character models are lighting effects are amazing as always. 6/10.
