What do you think?

thanks.
About the video, i don't think many people will care for this system, for one it doesn't show your score next to your name, which means no1 will look or care.
Looks pretty good.
I feel like I've basically just watched Sony's 2008 E3 press conference though, lol.
So does that mean Cows think achievements are good now?
ReturnOfShinobi
Back when they didint have it they were split in the middle. Some didint care and thought it was a waste of time others actually wanted sony to get thier act together and release it. I think this is very cool.

I have fun getting them on TF2 when I do, but since you get weapon upgrades, it's more rewarding.
This sucks:
Unfortunately, PS3 trophies will not be retroactive. For games that have already been released, players must first download a patch for said game, and will then have to perform the feats to receive the trophies as though they were playing the game for the first time.
Also where the hell is my cross game voice chat.
seems kinda lame, just doesnt feel right, achievements on 360 are much better, though they are lame as wellmingo123
I don't see how one is better or worse, they are literally IDENTICAL systems, right down to the developer pictures, seriously, Sony did a carbon copy, when I thought they were literally going to be little trophys and stuff.

Except for the leveling up system which is totally different to the gamerscore.

Okay, so, a number score is replaced by a level system, but, both are still pretty much 1:1 copies of eachother.
of course...what ever sony doesn't have is called stupid...until they steal it...then PS3 fanboys are all over it and call their version of it betterSo does that mean Cows think achievements are good now?

this is good for cows, but why is completely ripping off MS and Xbox Live ok lol? this is a complete and utter rip off:lol:tymeservesfate
It's good that Sony's ripping ideas off Microsoft. Now microsoft has zero reasons to charge people for XBOX LIVE other than to rip people off. Great plan Sony.

Every 360 game has achievements, and it appears that only a handful of selected ps3 games have and will have them. That's not the same, it's very depressing.[QUOTE="mixedplanet"]i think Achievements are more fun to unlock.FloWeN-UK
Care to explain why? Seeing as Trophies are the exact same thing as Achievements except for a slight difference.
i have both PS3 and 360. Well to me achievements have that "Charm" to it. i dont know how to explain it, its just better...

thats exactly the feeling I get when I use XBL and PSN, theres something PSN isnt doing right, it might get all the feautres of live in next few updates but it just wont have that feel

That's not the same, it's very depressing.Thats because XBOX360 had the achievement system from the very start. If it had the achievement system 2 years after the console launch most of the XBOX360 games wouldn't have ahievements, they'd have to be patched. So seeing as the trophy system has only just started it makes sense that not many games wont be using it but all future games probably will. Not to mention devs will patch existing games.

And that just illustrates the strength of Achievements over Trophies. Achievements have been standard since launch. All games have it, guaranteed.
It's not a guarantee that all devs will retool existing game to accomodate. It is a bit of an annoyance though that to get an trophy for an existing game, you'll have to play it all over again.
However, I am intrigued about the leveling system and the bronze/silver/gold/platinum setup. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

how can it be better if you havent had the chance to even use trophies yet? judge them both when they both come out.

Are you serious? It looks exactly like the gamertag if not more user-friendly. :|
Edit: Oh wait, you're talking about the trophy screen? I think it looks a bit underwhelming too, but honestly it doesn't even matter.
IMO Trophies > Achievements ;)PS_Johnof course...any sony fanboy would say such a thing before experiencing it first hand

when were they bad? its not like you were forced to earn achievements
Oh yes they were, they were useless and everyone who cared about them where whores:roll:[QUOTE="ReturnOfShinobi"]So does that mean Cows think achievements are good now?

I still think they're dumb, all I wanted was in-game xmb and its coming so im happy.
No they add replay value, people have stopped caring about the overall score and more for the individual game, thats were the bragging rights come from and everybody enjoys a bit of competition[QUOTE="FloWeN-UK"][QUOTE="mixedplanet"]i think Achievements are more fun to unlock.mixedplanet

Surprising since you can't possibly have unlocked any trophies.
Atleast with trophies you can compare what accomplishments you have unlocked with friends, instead of just comparing a number next to your gamertag on XBL
Player 1 has 8231 Achievement points
Player 2 has 213 Achievement points
Oh wow achievements are amazing -_- it wouldnt suprise me if M$ copied sony now and made it so you can actually see what you did to get your achievements

Oh yes they were, they were useless and everyone who cared about them where whores:roll:teh lulz. yeah i thought it was a great idea. i mean if you werent into that sort of thing you play the game how you want, but if you like getting achievements it adds lots of replay value and nice friendly competition with your friends. the only time i thinkk its bad is when people actually buy awful games just to get more achievement points.
