First cry engine 3 footage!

CryEngine 3 will be scalable down to consoles, so it won't look the same as Crysis

im guessing thats console footage since it looks so much worse than Crysis.

They should have just called it the "CryEngine 2 Lite"

Adding in the "3" implies an upgrade.

It still looks good, but not nearly as good.

Be interesting to see what games come out of this.

The video is fairly bad quality, but I can't see consoles being capable of that level in the video... If i'm proven wrong though I will glady concede, as it would look awesome.

Did not notice the Xbox 360 logo next to the PS3 logo at the bottom at the start of the video, huh? This is apparently being used for both. Anyway, some parts were not so impressive, others looked great, such as trees, water, and lighting.

It actually looks pretty good! but why do they call it Cry engine 3 when it's not even as powerful as Cry Engine 2?

If it runs like that I will be highly impressed. As it stands, I just can't see it happening, especially on an engine as demanding as CryEngine.

I sounded negative the first time. Okay, nothing on consoles looks this good. No way, no how. So if they can make Crysis look that good on consoles, then it'll top everything else out there on consoles, no doubt about it. But it just left me unimpressed after playing games that use the CryEngine 2.

it's a tech demo and all tech demos are designed to impress. Like I said if I see a game running like that on consoles it would be awesome and a real step forward, but we'll just have to wait and see how well a developer uses it.

one of the most tempting games on PC is Crysis and I would like to play it on my PS3 or 360.

The difference is that PC games are made for a moving range of hardware, which means that early shots will be running on far weaker hardware than future shots will be...that obviously does not apply to console games.

lol it does. It helps to be cynical in cases like this, as tech demos rarely come to fruition. I think Killzone 2 managed to mostly match it's tech demo, but I haven't seen many games do it.

Puts Killzone 2 too shame.

Sony fanboys will downplay anything coming using the cry engine 3..why? because they know how well Multiplats run and look on the xbox 360 even if the game looks better than anything on both consoles they will bring up KZ2 and MGS4 as the best looking games..watch and see!McdonaIdsGuy

That entirely depends on the developer, GG have already shown a great engine that destroys most 360/PS3 multiplat games. I think on this engine we could see some potentially very good PS3/360 multiplats.
