call me crazy, but I have a crazy feeling that Mario Galaxy has a chance to surpass 9.6, and even has a shot at AAAA. I mean Myamoto is a genius and it looks like this new Mario game has the charm of the better games in the series, and some of you don't realize how good the Mario games have been, some of you have really lost sight of that. There have been 6 games in the series and 80% of those games are pretty much universally considered among the greatest games of all time (Mario Bros. 1, Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, and Mario 64), no series can come close to that domination. It would be like if 9 of the games in the Final Fantasy Series (FF1-12) were as critically acclaimed and influential as Final Fantasy 7. And I'm not a Nintendo Homer either, for example despite all the hype it's getting from Sheep I think Metroid Prime will be the first sub 9.0 Metroid Prime.
Metal Gear Solid 4 : Guns Of The Patriots or Devil May Cry 4 or Motorstorm or maybe Killzone 2 who knows :)

What on earth makes you think that any of those titles you listed will even reach AAA much less score higher than 9.6? By the way, a game hasn't scored higher than 9.6 in 5 years...
this dude is right, gamespot will find a reason to give those games low scores example killzone 2 the good extremly fast gameplay great graphics the bad little fuzzy lines on the gun make it extremly annoying when you play
What safe route was that? I'm just saying this whole topic is kinda pointless to begin with because no game in 5 years has surpassed 9.6....I can't even begin to think of a game that even has the remote possiblity of reaching a 9.7 or higher.

3 straight 9.6 ratings... I know, that's why I said Gamespot loves GTA. Those games have scored consistently high here, which is why GTAIV has the best chance.

Have very little chance of breaking the barrier because that they all will recycle the main gameplay mechaincs an new ideas and concepts are very important to Gamespot once you breach 8.5.
MP3 and GTA 4 have a slightly larger chance than the previous 4 because they are likely to be qiute a bit more different from their previous installments.
But where the real chance stands in new games that is based on something completely new like.
Mass effect (most likely to be first) Spore Crysis Banjo 3 (this one stands as much of a chance as a new game because its been nearly a decade since the last one.) The Crossing (that game is either going to be one of the best games ever or it's going to flat out suck)

KILLZONE2 ? LMAO. This game is going to be like a torpedo hitting a sinking ship when it launches. For Sony's sake I hope all those coders they have working overtime on this baby have a real system seller on their hands or else.
