I honestly have trouble remembering, but two jump to mind:
-Lufia II (SNES)
-Wing Commander V (PC)

Zelda: Ocarina of Time for sure, I cried upon completion... I felt moved by that game, every emotion Link was expriencing, I was, that game was simply put, Godly!
Most immersed... Metroid Prime 3! The Metroid games have always been immersive, the switch to first person made it even more immersive and the controls and gestures of MP3 make is simply the most immersive experience I've ever had playing games! A wonderfully crafted masterpiece!
Final Fantasy 4 AKA ff2 usa on my snes
Metal gear solid was the first game that fulllllly immersedme into epicness however ff7 did a good job too but nothin came close to mgs on the playstation
The first Halo. The only story that came close to grabbing me like Halo did was Kotor.
People hate on Halo for some reason when comes to story, but I think the story is fantastic. I's the only reason I played the game, I hated the multiplayer, and usually hate those style of FPS's. But the story was just awesome.
It was back in 95-96 I think. It had cutscenes with real actors, Mark Hamill(Luke Skywalker) was playing the lead role, and every now and then you could even make your own choises on how the cutscene/story continues, it was awesomeness. Before that only games I played with stories worth mentioning were the old Sierra/Lucasarts adventure games, but the way WCIV carried out the story ..well not even many modern games can match it.
The original Zelda, Anarchy, and Dragon Warrior all come to mind. I guess you could say immersed because these were the first games where I cared to learn more about the worlds.Ibacai
Dragon Warrior was pretty sweet back in the day, definately the first game that made me care about the story.
I dont even remember dude...might have been commander keen...or maybe alien rampage dunno..eyerok
OMG I loveeeee Commander Keen!!! I think that and Tetris were the first games I've ever played. Mario Land for GB would come next.
ProbaIbly Pokemon Red, but that may have to do with the fact that I was 5 at the time.Sir-Marwin105
That reminds me, I wish I could find pokemon silver, I loved that game.
