LP2 has snow? Anyway, I know where you're coming from. It looks a bit deja-vu...but not bad regardless. I'm not too worried by graphics, however I'm willing to make a petition for splitscreen if necessary.

grey and white is still and art style, a game doesnt have to be stylized or have cell shaded to have an art style. even the realism in crysis is an art style.

It looks very much like KZ2 which is a good thing since KZ2 looked great. Since they're using the same engine hopefully they're improve the gameplay now.

Killzone 2 took so long because they were building and tweaking the engine. Now that they have already got that most important part down, they can focus on improving the graphics/gameplay and multiplayer. The game won't be rushed, it can be completed in a year. Hell, Uncharted 2 only took 18 months to make.

Leaked scans and details for you lucky people.

- Will show the Helghast have humanity left in them.

- Will have the feeling that "of being in a place far away from home, outnumbered by people who want to kill you."

- Will be like Inglorious Basterds.

- All of the characters in the screenshots are flying in.. jetpacks?!

- Will include arctic levels.

- One mission in the game involves rescuing ISA Captain Narville.

- Game is playable in 3D!

- Have to wear 3D glasses, apparently the 3D effects are "crazy."

- Combat is "unchanged from predecessor."

- Or is it? Hand to hand combat involves you "Unloading a string of different (and often brutal) attacks on stunned enemies."

- The scale is supposed to be "bigger this time."

- The Jetpacks are "surprisingly lightweight and agile, Killzone 3's jetpack is easier to maneuver compared to the sluggish incarnations of the gadget found in other games."

- New weapon called the Wasp, basically shoots a "flurry of rockets" at an enemy.

- Will show off the Helgjast culture.

- There is actually a Helghast language, which will be explored in the game.

- Will have "diverse locales."

- Have to sit in the center of the 3D tv for the 3D effects to work.

- 3D in this game is called a "Game Changer."

- Going to have "Intense Action"

- Jetpacks double as a weapon, which basically means a machine gun mounted right on top of it.

- If you shoot Helghast with jetpacks, they'll "explode like roman candles"

- To control the jetpack, you "have to activate bursts of speed in midair, propelling yourself across further distances."

- The Jetpack resembles something you'd do in platformers such as Super Mario Bros. Or Uncharted

- In one mission, you have to use the jetpack by "launching yourself from glacier to glacier"

- You'll see "a lot of" snow levels.

- Everything is more spread out in this game.

Cool, hope the singleplayer campaign is better. While it wasn't bad, it certainly wasn't great as far as FPS standards go. Decent, relativity solid, but too many dull moments. The multiplayer however was surprisingly good.

I think this is quite possibly the worst point of comparison I have read in a 'hype preview'. Really now, KZ3 is suddenly going to switch to something over the top, smart and puply, with an interesting narrative, after the how seriously it took itself in the last two games? No, just no. Oh jeez I could go on. - Oh and why are jetpacks cropping up recently? Sure in Liberation Helgast soldiers had them, but everything just seems cumbersome and hardly as well intergrated into the design, compared to the first Tribes.

Considering that they're reusing the engine and (I assume) some assets from Killzone 2, I'm expecting a much longer and varied SP with a larger scale and more balanced MP.

Heavy by choice? Bad choice then. I understand that they wanted to set themselves apart, and try to make the controls feel realistic, but all they did was make the controls worse in the process. To be different from Halo and COD (which both have tight, responsive, and accurate controls), all they did was make the controls worse? By the way, I hate Halo and COD. I'm a BF and UC2 guy, and those games have great controls compared to KZ2.

Play Halo for the first time, you get people jumping all over the place and shooting in any direction since its light, the same with COD (minus the jumping). Play Killzone 2 thinking your playing the standard FPS, and your arse will be handed to you. You need to actually "Aim" and you cant just go "gun-running" so easily.

So many people disliked it because the controls were horrid. Why else would they release so many patches specifically to fix the controls? Look, if somebody made a racing game with sluggish controls, and somebody told you that you can get used to it and be good at it, you'd wonder why the hell you're playing this racing game with crappy controls. KZ2 is like driving a Porsche that has the front end of a Hyundai.

So many people disliked it because the controls were horrid. Why else would they release so many patches specifically to fix the controls? Look, if somebody made a racing game with sluggish controls, and somebody told you that you can get used to it and be good at it, you'd wonder why the hell you're playing this racing game with crappy controls. The updates was for the lag in the control mapping not for the actual style of play

i enjoyed the multi for 2 but i seriously wish they'd get rid of the ******* stupid blue and red lights.

the LAST thing any soldier would put on their gear is something that lights up. i understand it is a game mechanice to make the game more accessible for noobs but i find it really irritating. it's like playing BC2 in non-hardcore modes where everyone has a red arrow above their head like a christmas light when spotted....

I played nothing but PC games back when, and 'bunny-hopping' was what separated said noobs from the skilled players.

when I played my PC games, I can recall many times where my ass was handed to me because I didn't bunny hop/strafe jump. same thing happened to with Halo.

that's what Counterstrike strategy consists of as well.

mind you, it's different for the game and how the MP experience is delivered, but to call jumping noob-friendly....just no. and Halo, noob-friendly, not at all. I've been there. the game didn't accomodate me like MW2 had. in which the learning curve was vastly longer, or should I say infinite, because MW2 is the definition of noob-friendly.

with 1 new colour added "white!" hehe! Good thing gears of war 3 is going the uncharted 2 route with "more vivid colours" while killzone 3 is managing to add only 1 more colour white for the (snow & glacier). I still wonder why guerilla studio has so much fear for colour.

I like the new look of the Helghast, personally, and I hope you get to play as them in some sort of half-ISA/half-Helghast campaign.

So many people disliked it because the controls were horrid. Why else would they release so many patches specifically to fix the controls? Look, if somebody made a racing game with sluggish controls, and somebody told you that you can get used to it and be good at it, you'd wonder why the hell you're playing this racing game with crappy controls. KZ2 is like driving a Porsche that has the front end of a Hyundai.

The updates was for the lag in the control mapping not for the actual style of play

First of all, the lag in the control is exactly what I'm referring to . Secondly, I can't believe they did at least 4 updates, and it still has horrid controls.

KZ2 has the worst control i've experienced in an fps. The target is damn too slugish yet fan boys came out with excusses n said it because of the gravity in the helghast planet. Well since there will be glacier & snowy level in killzone 3 i bet the target will be very shaky & unstable because of the snowy planet right? Fanboys. Like it predecessors }Killzone 3 = FAILZONE 3
