[QUOTE="savagetwinkie"][QUOTE="Vandalvideo"] I don't see evidence that the card is not superior to consoles (720p and 30fps), nor do I see evidence that it is representative of other cards in the range. All I see are empty statements. I want evidence of your statements. Prove to me that all other cards in that price range are necessarily around that performance. In addition, why would someone have to buy that card in the first place? There are other areas you could save money in.Vandalvideo
they are priced based on performance, if you get a 9600gt which is even though a budget card from a prior gen of video cards, it costs more then the 4670, alot of people use the 4670 alot in these forums and i'm just pointing out spending $70 to $100 on a video card isn't the greatest idea.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-graphics-card,2404-7.htmlheres a performance chart, it doesn't include prices but the 4670 is comparable to an 8800 gs and 9600 mobile.
Similar numbers on a given test doesn't necessarily mean they have the same practical performance. Also, charts aren't necessarily trust worthy. Many charts told me my 7900gs wouldn't be able to run Crysis on high at any more than 4 fps. Here is to laughing at them with 35 fps on medium-high! that isn't benchmarks its a heirachy of performance, where cards are based on performance in games, if you go to newegg alot of the prices for something like the 4670 is comparable to an 8800 gs or ati 3850 because they all have similar performance, and all are about the same price. 7900 is a good card and not considered a budget card, if you get something like a 4670 it won't handle high resolutions very well.
