O.S. + good video card + good processor will cost you well over $300, the other essentials added in will run you atleast $750 total. Then you have to build it up, install the OS, update the OS, install the game and then pray it doesn't crash. With consoles you just plug up and start playing.

The only PC exclusives worth it imo are Crysis and Crysis Warhead, which sequal will be on console.

Who want's to play old PC games? Okay I guess we can factor in the psone, ps2, and xbox library for the consoles. Don't have ps3 w/ bc just add on a $100 ps2, hell PS360 is still cheaper than good gaming PC

that isn't benchmarks its a heirachy of performance, where cards are based on performance in games, if you go to newegg alot of the prices for something like the 4670 is comparable to an 8800 gs or ati 3850 because they all have similar performance, and all are about the same price. 7900 is a good card and not considered a budget card, if you get something like a 4670 it won't handle high resolutions very well.savagetwinkie

I completely agree, that said every single multi-platform game is much better on PC from frame rate to clarity, so with that in mind I think we should make a petition to force every game to be multi-platform... see how quickly console sales fall, Killzone 2 and Halo 3 at 1680x1050 with 4x AA with a keyboard and mouse yes please. ... :P.Too_tight_shoes

if you get something like a 4670 the perfomance will be below consoles, you might have higher resolutions but that card has a hard time keeping frame rates up, i have one, if you really want a good video card for any new games your looking at a min 120-150 right now, and a processor that would be $100-150. And even if you got the cheap ones, $300 is still not enough for the entire computer.savagetwinkie

I think this generation plays a big role.

3rd party development has almost completely been abandoned on consoles while it continues to thrive on PC. Developers choose to develop exclusively for PC, most of them have to be paid to develop on consoles; with their exclusive line-up almost completely being composed of 1st/2nd party games. Even with these big budget blockbusters, they are simply 1st/2nd party supplementation of the platform, they wouldn't get them without all that money being spent.

Multi billion dollar investments and they still cannot match the support the "dying" platform is getting, a platform that hasn't spent a penny acquiring exclusive development.

That's really got to PO some of the fanboys.

It has been shown time and time again that the PC has more exclusives this gen than 360 and PS3 combined. Thing is when you present proof, they'll move on to "but those games are boring and no one ever heard of them". The argument is not "which platform has the games I prefer", is "which platform has the most exclusives, period, like them or not".
