I would like to get both but I'm running out of room. I already have a Wii U, PS3 and 360 sharing entertainment shelf space along with a 7.1 receiver and the cable box. Also the One now has a blu-ray drive.
The other thing is that something just doesn't feel right about paying an annual online fee for two consoles. One was passable but two now? Especially when you consider that the PSN service to me is not very trustworthy from several angles. I can't tell you how many times I just wanted to jump on and play a game only to say f*** it because of painfully long downloads. To be fair though it has gotten better.
But that whole PSN hack just left a bad taste. It really just doesn't make you feel good to game on that service after something like that. 'Till this day I'm quite astonished at how some people tried (and still try) to sweep that whole debacle under the rug. Yes I understand Xbox live is not perfect either and has had issues of its own but that PSN hack was just bad man. As some have already mentioned forget the fanboy crap....this was about people's most cherished personal and financial information being compromised. And I guarantee you had that happened to the Xbox Live service on the same magnitude Xbox fans wouldn't have heard the end of it.
As it stands now I'm leaning toward the One. The PS4 will probably push out better graphics (although that still may be premature until we see final products)... but aside from visuals I just see the One as being more versatile. Like the TC I'm digging the entertainment features, UI, etc.. And yes I'm interested in what Kinect can do. The demos seemed pretty impressive and now that it's included in every box maybe devs will take it more seriously and develop more hybrid controller situations with the regular controller.
As far as games I'm interested in Ryse, Killer Instinct, Forza 5 and Crimson Dragon for the One and also Battlefield 4. For the PS4 I'm interested in Infamous and slightly interested in KZ4 although Infamous won't be there at launch. I'm sure the PS4 will have some nice exclusives down the line but basically I will be playing the wait and see approach with the PS4. I'm also definitely going to be keeping an eye out on reviews of how "simple" and user friendly the PS4 and Gaikai service is.... Sorry but based on my experience with the ps3 and psn Sony has a lot to show and prove to me.Â
Talking is cool up to a point Sony but show and prove...show and prove. For now I'm good with a Wii U, 360 and One sharing the same entertainment space while the ps3 will be moved to one of the other rooms mostly for blu-ray entertainment.
