And where the fvck did I said it needed guns? If you knew me at all you would know I despise most shooters. I was saying the gameplay is simplistic and boring. I've tried Amnesia and found it boring aswell. The puzzles were, for the most part, p1ss easy.

Just accept not everyone thinks this is "original" or good. I dont like what I see. its my opinion. now deal with it

Main reason why people are afraid to make new horror games and casualise everything.

I think you need to learn something in tension building and good ambient immersion. You don't have to be doing a million things at once or be on a set piece tour all the time

Oh, here comes the "casualise" bs

I loved machinarium, probably a slower games then this sh1t. What does that tell you? stfu and stop assuming I dont like this game cause "its slow". NO. I dont like this game cause it looks boring. Boring =/= slow

You equated a blinking mechanic to shooting and you said Amnesia was boring too which is an exercise in fear through slow pacing. And why are you talking about machinarium? that's not a horror game. Slow pacing isn't the same across all genres. so saying you like slow pacing in one game doesn't mean you won't hate it in another.

Kind of takes the scary out of it when the game looks like a cardboard cutout from 1995

I found penumbra more scary than the incredibly easy and predictable amnesia! Once you realise there is an incredibly limited number of monsters, all the ambient sound effects are obviously meaningless, not to mention the monster is stupid and easy to get away from the very rare time he actually sees you. I will still buy the next game though but im expecting much more!

Both have problems. Amnesia is less scary when you learn the patterns and you actually see the monsters up close. And Penumbra has the problem of being able to climb on boxes and beat the dogs to death and then run around the area, and they had more people in the game world or connection to other people so it ruined the lonely isolation Amnesia had.

But they are both fantastic franchises and A machine for pigs is top of my hype list right now

It looked like a bad mod of the first Half-Life game.

If you want fear try F.E.A.R for the PC.

Agreed, seen as you were a walking tank that could slow down time and obliterate people with bullets

Hmm, I don't know much about these SCP guys or whether all these games (the one with the stairs, the other one with close corridors and this one) were made by the same company or group of people or community or whatever they actually are, but I like what I am seeing and believe, that they may come up with some really revolutionary ideas for horror games in future.

Sure, the games / concepts look very simplistic and have very low production value, but that's the thing. They look more like concepts or models used for testing new ideas and mechanics rather than full-fledged games focused on delivery of proper story and graphics and whatnot. And that's great IMO. We already have many games with great production values. What we need, are new ideas. And once these guys will come up with something really scary, I'm sure that either they or some other companies will use those ideas / concepts in "proper" games.

So, definitely. I hope that they will remain this playful and will continue doing what they are doing.

For such crappy graphics and animation, it surprising the game is quite tense. Give this to Frictional please!

Yeah for what it is it's impressive. It has a lot of work ahead and it has a lot of problems and rough edges but the base concept and mechanics are quite cool.
