Just for clarity on the account issue for those here don't get it. MS doesn't require an MSN account just to play single-player games, and any requirement for an account to play MP is both openly declared upfront and available basically anywhere you can buy the games. Also, if you want to take advantage of cross-progression, cross-save, you need MSN account. Destiny 2 is the exact same way. MSN accounts are available in every Country/Region on the Planet except where prohibited by the US law meaning MS is not locking out huge portions of the world.

Sony, meanwhile, tried to make a PSN account mandatory even for single player games, did so retroactively on games which *didn't* require it on purchase, and did so in spite PSN not being available in vast swaths of the world. It was bad enough that Valve had to issue a refund for those feeling the sting till Sony back out for good.

I'm just shocked to see few Sony fans are complaining about this. This isn't a big deal.

@davillain: It wasn't on the box of Minecraft but they cut PS users off of patches on the game until Sony allowed Microsoft accounts. PSVR was on the Minecraft box, but then MS removed the support. There was also the whole G4WL thing trying to get PC users to pay for online. They're shoving MS accounts {and a lot of other things) down Windows users' throats even if they don't want them, and removing support for hardware that was previously listed as supported. Nobody should be throwing stones here.

FH5 requiring a Microsoft account on PS5 is stupid. I don't care about how Microsoft feels about that. 2 layers of accounts for 1 game? 2 layers of paywalls? Microsoft can go screw themselves, oh wait they're already doing that.

this is honestly fantastic news for turn 10 and PG. They made an absolute banger of a game in forza horizon 5 and it needs the biggest possible audience and support it can get. The xbox and pc audience alone isn't enough to support this beautiful game.

It doesn't make sense for a game that can be played offline like FH5 to require an account. People also complained about that when they started asking people to log in to a Bethesda account for the original Doom after an update.

But for online games Microsoft and others like Activision and EA and Ubisoft have been requiring accounts for various games since last gen and maybe before.

Well, that is how MS and Sony roll.

Definitely more interested in this than Indiana Jones.. although I've already played it on my Xbox.

Yea I played it on my Xbox too, but I was curious to try it on the ps5 pro. After all, the ps5 pro is the best console platform!
