I own both consoles and i pay for Live but i will never pay for PSN simply because the online community just isnt there. Theres hardly any good games to play online, but the ones that are good the community dies within weeks (KZ2, U2, etc). No one talks, etc etc. Ill stick with my 360 for online gaming

I've never used Customer Service (CS), and I doubt many of us do. If you need a "priority" option for CS than there's something wrong w/ your CS

I've seen this a lot w/ other companies. Most of the time it's crap. They often have offers that don't even match retail prices for things, or stuff you never wanted in the first place.

"Extended 3-Year Warranty"

Sounds good, but my the track record for sony's warranty promises is really bad. Basically they'll just say "our warrenty doesn't cover X" and charge you $150

"Access to Beta games"

I swear they've promised this like 6 times already. For Qore, home, and on the PS forums, and just about everything else sony has created they've promised Beta access, and "lied"everytime.

"Early Access to ALL Store Content"

Developers are not going to like this. It's fine to have demo's and free items available early, but if 3rd party developers are excpected to put their releases on hold for "premium" subscribers sony isn't going to attract many devs.

"Member DEMO Sharing Of FULL Game"

So this allows you to share a level with a fellow subscriber - of a game you just purchased from the PlayStation store! This means content exclusive to you and your friend, not available on the PSN store.

Great unless a player can get through a majority of your content in 1 hour, but I'd say if that's the case your game sucked.

leaderboards??? ok not really that great of a feature.

Sounds promising... but mostly dependant on what's for sale most the time.

kinda funny, but atleast you don't have to subscribe to get netflix..

If all these options are actually as promised then $5 a month is a fairly good deal. Especially if you're spending more than that on games that you play for a month then never touch again... The problem I have is that Sony tends to over promise and under deliver hence I'm very skeptical about any of these features actually living up to their expectations.

Since when was this official? Last I read, these features only appeared on a survey.

Really, what premium content are you talking about? Horse Armor in Oblvion? How profound. I'm talking about online games, so if an XBL player is paying, they have access to the content, whereas Sony is not going to allow it for the free players online. So the free player is going to play against a premium player with better equipment.

• A premium player may play against a free player with diffrent content dosen't nessecarily mean it's going to be "better" like outfits in SF4 for example.

You seem to be trying to intermingle PSN's premum serive and xbl's current service into a collective arguement against the free PSN.

Considering the fact I'm cheap and rarely buy online content due to it's expensive nature I highly doubt this will be worthwhile to me.

kinda funny, but atleast you don't have to subscribe to get netflix..

If all these options are actually as promised then $5 a month is a fairly good deal. Especially if you're spending more than that on games that you play for a month then never touch again... The problem I have is that Sony tends to over promise and under deliver hence I'm very skeptical about any of these features actually living up to their expectations.

So now that PlayStation Network is offering a paid version to premium content and services, would you be buying it? As you guys know - everything that is already free - remains so.

"Customer Service Priority"

Apparently Sony will offer priority access to customer service with little to "no" waiting time. Both online and via the phone. That's fine by me.

"Exclusive Experiences"

This promises exclusive experiences with the SONY brands - including SONY BMG music, SONY Montanica films and other businesses that branch off from the SONY corp. not forgetting SONY Computer entertainment.

"Extended 3-Year Warranty"

Now this is a big one. A brand new SONY console ships with a 1 year warranty from the day of purchase, so if your PlayStation3 decideds to kick the bucket a day after the warranty ends your f**ed. (:

As part of purchasing the overall subscription you get an extra 3 years to your name.

"Access to Beta games"

Didn't they promise this with QORE? ..... Anyway SONY says you get exclusive access to BETA's. So exclusive access to the beta's of popular games before their actual release date

"Early Access to ALL Store Content"

Get early access to select free and purchasable game related content on the PlayStation Store before it's available to everyone else. This includes games, add-ons, themes, avatars, as well as free game demos.

"Member DEMO Sharing Of FULL Game"

So this allows you to share a level with a fellow subscriber - of a game you just purchased from the PlayStation store! This means content exclusive to you and your friend, not available on the PSN store.

"Cross Game Voice Chat - Access"

Well here it is! Alot of you people have been waiting on this. SONY's bringing you cross game voice chat. Nothing more to say, really. It's the ability to use your headset to talk to your friends on PS3 REGARDLESS of what they are doing.

Yup, so you can purchase a full-fledged game - and try it for a full hour!

Don't like it - delete it.

Like it - Buy it.

Awesomeness.

Oh and it doesn't matter if its multiplayer or single player.

This sounds promising. Get a fixed number of tokens per month you can wager with other players in competitive online games. These tokens could then be built up and redeemed for free PlayStation Network games and other content.

The PS3 will automatically offer and track challenges and winners and would post results. An example of a challenge is 'first to get 10 trophies' in a particular game.

Yeaaaaaaaah.

Get a fixed number of PSOne ****c games, PSP Minis (bite-sized games), and PS3/PSP themes per month to keep for free for as long as you are a subscriber. The PlayStation Store offers these types of content for $2-6 each.

"Discounts On Store Content"

Get weekly member-exclusive discounts on specific games, game add-ons and themes on the PlayStation Store. Discounts may range from 20-50% off regular retail prices.

"Trophy Alerts"

Get automated alerts on your PlayStation XrossMedia Bar, PlayStation.com, and via text message (if you so choose) that alert you when your friends get any trophy or a specific one. This feature is customizable – you can choose which friends to receive alerts from and what kinds of alerts.

"Cloud Storage Space for Games"

Store your game saves on a virtual secure saver. This would allow you to access your game saves at any point in time, and from any PlayStation 3 or PSP console you are logged in on.

Did you even read any of them? Live only has a few of those features. Since when did Live have cloud storage(possibly the greatest idea I've seen, and something Microsoft NEEDS)? Token wagering? Free PS1 games? Hulu? Loyalty rewards?(Microsoft doesn't know a thing about rewarding their most loyal customers) How about game sharing? How about the possiblity of free Sony Pictures movies?(See under Exclusive Experiences)

How about CHOICE? Does Live have that? Last I checked, if you don't have a Gold account you don't get to play any of your games online. Honestly this makes Live look like a joke compared to PSN. Free PSN is already almost just as good as XBL Gold and this premium PSN takes a crap all over Live as a whole.

1. Cloud storage can go wrong and it has, what if you have no internet? than you have no access to your profile.

2. Token is nothing compared to 1 vs 100.

4.Microsoft has said they are working on something for people who have had Xbox live for a while. Microsoft has Contests lots every month. game with fame, game with developer. weekly discounts

6. being free doesnt mean its better. every year more and more websites are charging users to access "extra stuff" (youtube, Hulu). people really wouldnt pay if they didnt feel like they could get it for free. in the end someone pays.

6. I have played PSN and I prefer Xbox live over it, infact I dont see how PSN is even better than xbox live. I dont like using a Bluetooth headset. they don't last that long. PSN will suffer the same the Xbox live does, as none of that will be availabe in all countries. so most likly all is that is for the US only

User to User challenges is very very very very bad. 1 thats if the developer does that and we all know how many games use all the features Playstation has. and most people don't want to spend playing a game straight for like 48 hours, so than 90% of gamers are even going to be included

So its like the PC's online, just with vastly fewer features and costs money. People paying for this are the one ruining gaming.

You see guys? You see? Actually playing online isn't a "premium" feature.
