Anyway, all the traits you mentioned made me love him lol. Except killing you know who. That made me pissed. Neer was so inferior and lame it wasn't even funny. Show should have ended after episode 26. Loved Matsuda though :D In terms of relevance, he snuck up on you. Like this:
I love Light, yes he was a sociopath but he was so awesome, I was pulling for him the whole time. And i agree Near was so lame I didn't like him at all L was so much better. One of my favorite animes though.
