I think Skyward Sword may recieve EXTREMELY mixed reviews. Ranging from as low as 6, to as high as 10. I think some people are going to hate the motion control aspect.

The fact that a well known gaming site doesn't spend the time to even bother learning the game controls? All that video shows is how lousy IGN is.

I'm actually surprised at all the people saying Skyward Sword. SS and possibly BF3 are the only two games for this remaining gen that I see could potentially be AAAA.

I'll agree with DNF and Resistance 3 as potential flops. Nothing I see out of either makes me think it's a must-have.

To my knowledge, and I could be wrong, is that a flop is related to a System Wars "Hype" thread. Somebody makes a thread months before the games releases and people think what the game will score. If it falls below what the thread shows, it is a flop. Stupid, I know.

- Like everyone else has said, I think Duke will flop and get a 7.5

- SS will get an 8.0 for being outdated and boring. I'm a huge Zelda fan but the games aren't really that great anymore, and i think the reason they're held in such high regard is because of nostalgia. Almost all old series are spoken about very highly (Zelda, Mario, Sly, Jak, Spyro, etc), while the games really aren't that good anymore. Mario however has been great in the past two entries, although Galaxy didn't really appeal to me (still a phenomenal game nonetheless)

- I have a feeling either Gears 3 or Uncharted 3 will flop on GS but will still be great games

Well the thing is SS does not include a smart cam system like SMG (which makes sense because there are walls unlike the spherical stuff in SMG), looking at the footage in some instances the camera doesn't follow you that well inside the dungeon so there's lots of Z turning.

And I'm thinking that specifically on IGN and Gamespot, they will find some ways to spin the motion aspect to something negative although I can be proven wrong on this one.

I'm gonna predict 9.5 here for these reasons.

Many sites, especially 5-scale ones, will rate it 5/5 I'm sure. It looks like to be the best 3D Zelda game of all time. It actually got Neogaf's game of the show nod.

It looks incredibly polished and WM+ looks to be something that will reinvigorate the combat. Plus, it's the Zelda Team among other reasons...

I'm trying to convey a message to you because the idea that a Wii game looks better than, quote, most HD games, is not that weird as you implied. :)

I was not impressed by the visuals of BF3. It looked like a boring desert with tanks, just as you'd imagine them. Realism does not fare well with me.

The Halo ramake easily flop depending on your expectations. It uses the exact same engine and level design as the original, it's just got new graphics, remastered audio and a reorchestrated sound track. It comes with a map pack for Reach and while 343 claims they've yet to reveal everything it coems with I seriously doubt whats left will significantly improve the quality and I doubt it'll be anything major like new modes.

It'll likely be the lowest rated Halo game, aside from maybe Halo 2 vista and seeing as it's launches close to Modern Warfare 3, Skyrim and Assassin's Creed I can't see the sales being as strong as previous Halo titles given the nature of this one. I'm betting this one will only see about two million units life time sales, which isn't bad but nothing compared to any of the Bungie developed Halo titles.

Regardless if Halo fans have their expectations appropriately adjusted you know cows will consider this some sort of victory.

Duke Nukem Forever is obvious. Definitely Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Probably Final Fantasy XIII-2 as well. Battlefield 3 on consoles will flop in critical reception at least, I'm getting a bad feeling about the 360 version especially considering we've yet to see any footage. Mass Effect 3 is a possibility.

What are we defining flop as here? Not meeting user hype or not getting AAA? I think after seeing how the GS editors have cracked down users will be more cautious about voting AAA for games. Therefore, we really shouldn't see many technical flops at all. Chance are most future flops will be AA hyped games getting 7.5s.

Seriously wondering how in the world Skyward Sword has terrible graphics. Yeah, it's on the Wii. Yeah, it's standard def. But anyone who's seriously comparing to Gamecube titles needs to go play a Gamecube game again and remember what games on that system actually looked like.

im still getting the elder scrolls.. its a fun game to mess around in slaying civilians and barbarizing the locals by stealing stuff is fun :P

I can see all those flopping as far as exclusives go, and that's all anyone seems to care about when it comes to flops.

Of those three, I think Skyward Sword will actually be a crappy game, while the others will be good games with some flaws.

There's no precedent for it being crappy. It doesn't make sense to think that after never making a console Zelda that garnered less than a 90% on MC or GR, that all of sudden Nintendo is going to start making a crappy product. :roll:

Naughty Dog's third game is never AAA so, I think it's safe to assume Uncharted 3 will flop and great lulz will be had.

im going to throw in tomb raider.

Not the same devs that created the first and it's a revamp of the series. not a good mix
