Game Freak Hints At Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Remakes

Personally, I would love this. Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire are often criticized and seen as the weakest entries in the series, but that would be precisely why I think they could benefit so much from remakes. Moreover, I cannot think of a better game in the series that would actually benefit from 3D, what with these games' strong emphasis on story presentation and graphical cues.

What do you guys think?

Junichi Masuda of Gamefreak was asked on Twitter about the possibility of a remake for Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. This is what hesaidin response:

I tried playing Sapphire. Trying to catch Marril, which I never came across, I leveled up beyond the point where I could actually catch any pokemon. And then I quit the game and never turned back.

We had Platinum, Gold and Silver remake, and Black and White released back to back to back.A year apart. for each. On top of that, there's all the spinoffs (Mystery Dungeon, Ranger, etc.) Platinum in 2009, Gold/Silver in 2010, Black & White in 2011, now Ruby/Saphire coming out 2012.

R/B & G/S needed a remake, since they were both so old, but nothing is wrong with R/S, except they are bad games, but they are not outdated

I won't buy it. Another remake yeah, pretty damn pointless when I already have every Ruby/Sapphire pokemon on my Diamond file.

Moreover, each new game (or generation) has added substantially to the series. I wonder, would you call series like Street Fighter, Mario, Grand Theft Auto, Assassins Creed and Battlefield milked as well?

G/S didnt get remade until 10 years later, thats fine and everyone wanted a remake anyway, since G/S were the best games hands down

R/B got a remake after 9-10 years aswell, but R/S, which are by far the worst games getting a remake after 7 years? okay, this is just a way to sell the dying 3DS, since no one is buying it, they will chuck heaps of Pokemon games on it and hope it will sell
