Ms without Bungie is like Oreo without the white stuff...
"For an unstated, but significant amount of money, Bungie shareholders bought the studio name back from Microsoft. Our source also revealed that even though Microsoft will retain the rights to Halo, Microsoft also has "the right of first refusal on future games." This means that Microsoft has the first shot at publishing Bungie's future titles. How this will come into play if Bungie decides they want future game X to appear on the PlayStation 3 and Wii alongside an Xbox 360 release will make things quite interesting."

Ok, so basically M$ still owns Bungie. lol!! Whatever they release M$ says what system it will be released on. Bungie bought the Studio name back, but not the actually developers or properties. If Bungie wants to make their games on the Wii, PS3 or PC, Microsoft could say ok, but it has to be out on the XBox 360 for 6 months first.

Why would it be ownage?
It's not. People need to READ.
1) This is still just a rumor
2) Even if it's not a rumor, Bungie just bought their NAME back, not the STUDIO. So M$ still owns Bungie Studios and the property they have released. By Bungie getting their name back, they are allowed to publish their own games instead of having M$ publish them. Because M$ still owns the studio they have to get permission from M$ to publish games on other platforms. Bungie can now make new IP's, but they will still most likely be exclusive to XBox 360.
3) M$ still owns Halo and could easy higher new staff members to keep making Halo games.
First Fasa then Bizare Creations and now Bungie.....MS is getting owned left right up and down lol future of 360 first party titles worries me :( mingo123o.o Microsoft shut down Fasa due to their games selling poorly and just costing them money,Bizarre never was owned by MS...just Microsoft owns the rights to the PGR series, and Bizarre was bought out but doesnt mean they cant continue making PGR games for 360...money talks.
EDIT:After actually reading the article, this is NO confirmation.Since when are "annon sources" reliable???I guess no one saw this news... MICROSFT SAYS BUNGIE NOT SPLITTING
MS still retains first right to Bungie games and Bungie gets to use MS tech. Not much is different except that Bungie can make games besides Halo (Thank god, since I wanted Halo to end with a trilogy!).

Exactly.
I don't know what the Cows are getting all exited about.
Just a couple of weeks ago they were saying that Bungie and Halo sucked...and now they are a giggly after hearing this rumor.
LOL at Cows all exited about playing Halo4 on their PS3.
MS losing the biggest exclusive gaming studio out there, not to mention the ONLY 1st party studio that they have left thats worth a crap.

The rumors are flying around that Microsoft still retains all rights to Halo and that Microsoft has rights of publishing all of Bungie's future titles. So in essence, Bungie cannot seek another publisher and cannot bring a game to another console without getting Microsoft's approval first. So where is the ownage exactly?
good, means we can get sequels ot Myth and maybe start up the Marathon franchise again....rocktimusprime
Bungie doesn't have the rights to Myth anymore, Take Two does.

That's pretty much what I've been saying. Cows are serious grasping at straws again. They should be worrying about SquareEnix and Konami starting to make more Wii and XBox 360 titles. Sony doesn't own SquareEnix, Konami, Namco or Capcom.

MS didn't lose anything. It's a win-win situation for both Bungie and MS. The ties between both companies are still strong. Microsoft helped Bungie make a lot of money, after all. Do you think Bungie is going to piss MS off by taking sides with Sony and their abysmal user base?
I can't wait for Bungie's next title to arrive. Keep your finger crossed Cows...maybe the title will also be released on the PS3 (if PS3 is still around by then).
