I enjoyed Super Paper Mario as well (two full play throughs) but it doesn't have the "pull it off the shelf and love it every year" feel of TTYD, or even the original Paper Mario. My wife and I both play Paper Mario and TTYD every so often, even with everything memorized.

I really like the feeling of the game.
It's funny and feels so innocent, but sometimes has some weird and dark moments. The music supports every moment extremely well.
I always compare this game with Disney's Fantasia for those things. I know it sounds strange :P
I've never thought of it that way, but I can see it. The big difference is that Fantasia did not have a coherent story. One of the greatest and funniest parts of that story is Bower always one step behind. I'll never take him as a serious villian after that. Not that I ever really did.

My favorite game this decade is Fatal Frame 2, but if I had to pick one game to define this decade I'd have to pick Resident Evil 4. I don't think any game reinvented itself more than RE4 did. It turned so many heads it's not even funny.
This thread is still alive? The answer is "World of Warcraft" this is not even an opinion just a fact. The game is the largest most dominating revenue creating force in gaming history bar none. WOW changed the game forever and every single development house on the planet would give their first born for a fraction of its financial earning capabilities. The only other game to come this decade and invade popular culture with such force would be HALO. I am not saying you have to like either of these games or even care about them. The fact still remains they are what this decade will be remembered by in 50 years from now from a gaming point of view.

You bring up an important point in that "GAME OF THE DECADE" can mean many things. You argument for the most influential etc. is a good one. But I if were talking about quality, game play etc, it's not WoW IMO.
Final Fantasy X was the first final fantasy game to have voice acting and it was an incredible game for the PS2. The graphics for the time were astonishing. The battle system was nice, quick, smooth, and easy. This is probably one of the best sound tracks you'll find in all of gaming because the songs are incredible and they fit with each scene PERFECTLY. The story/back story (history of yu yevon, sin, spira, the calm lands) was good, the characters were unique and good, the extras were great (ultimate equips, blitzball, monster arena) the game was nice and long if you tried to do a lot. Sin was unique as a boss for an rpg.
God of War was just nuts, lol.. and featured more neat things that you can do in 20 mins that you'd do playing another game for 2 hours. God of War 2 was the better of the two because they improved EVERY SINGLE THING. This title was also a niche title. I don't think it came out and everyone was all over it. To get max enjoyment out of these games, you need a creative mind when it comes to killing enemies (I'm referring to the combos you can pull off). The brutality makes it unique compared to other hack n slashs whether it's with boss fights or just regular enemies.
Grand Theft Auto 3 made 3d open world city games popular and it was amazing for it's time. Started the 3d GTA franchise. It sold amazingly well. Started controversies. All the GTAs usually have very intriguing stories. The game was a lot of fun too (for me I got tired of it, but I know others who absoutely loved messing around all the time). When people talked about running over hookers, you knew they were talking about GTA 3.
Half Life 2 had cutting edge graphics, Counter-Strike: Source, the most popular shooter to this date came with Half Life 2, it had a revolutionary weapon called the gravity gun. The gameplay was solid, it the game still looks sharp and nice today on gaming PCs. Everyone in PC gaming was all over this game. Even console gamers heard about this game, even though they knew nothing about it.
World of Warcraft is probably the most popular online MMORPG to ever be created. I've never played it and I don't plan to because MMROPGs **** with your life when it comes to your life, and it's too addicting.
Halo CE most popular FPs console game ever created. Made playing FPS on consoles mainstream (since Golden Eye/Perfect Dark). Halo 3 ends up being the best due to having the best multiplayer though.
Perfect Dark 64 - a pefected version of Golden Eye. The replay value of this game was insane. The graphics were n64's best. The guns AND gun sound effects in this game were EXTRODINARY. Anyone remember the laptop gun? Have you were played a multiplayer map and threw one of those in an elevator to kill people?
Picking a game of the decade is pretty much impossible you know?
For me "Oh gawd" is the same reaction after reading your message as after playing cod2.[QUOTE="ragek1ll589"]

That's why I said it was one of "My personal Games of the Decade".
