The studio is unproven, but the talent isn't. It just remains to be seen whether they can work as a team and build a great Halo game.

And they were formed in 2007, but obviously have continued to recruit and build over the years. They have built Halo Waypoint, and they helped with Halo anniversary as well as working on Halo 4. The longer they've had to work on Halo 4, the better the chances are of it being awesome.

I can't comment on the quality of a new dev team or anything like that, but a team can be great if it has great team members, it's not like they recruited new graduates for this new studio 343, they did hire only the best, including a lot of people from Bungie who wanted to stay working on Halo I believe.

I am also going to say Halo was getting very stale for me, it was clear Bungie was losing it's passion for the Halo universe, so I really feel 343 will create something fresh for Halo, whether it will be a good game or not remains to be seen, but it has made me more interested in the title.

Rockstar have always managed to create enough buzz and hype on their own, they don't need a huge event like this, when they can just release a video and get millions of clicks. Way more cost effective and your game doesn't get drowned in a sea of other games.

Jut because a development house doesn't have experience, doesn't mean they cant make a great game. Tons of dev studios have cracked out brilliant first games.

Microsoft have always owned Halo. Bungie was owned by, and a part of, Microsoft. There was no contract. Bungie asked for creative freedom, and so the two came to a mutual agreement where Bungie would split from Microsoft. EDIT: It is the company working on SSB4. Project Sora is headed by Sakurai, Sakurai is the guy who creates SSB.
