Games Are Not Fun Anymore

I desagree. I play games since 84 and this gen on pair with the 16bit one, are my favourite ones! I love how this gen we are able to play great looking and huge sandbox games and on the other hand, 2d, arcade and classic games. Live arcade and PSN store were a great addiction to this gen making it the most complete ever imo

My Nieice and Nephews clearly prove that LBP >>> Wii

even i get so much fun out of that game :D

"Fun" is such a stupid ass term we use to try and discribe the complex experience we go through when playing a game. It's so much deeper then that when you combine video game's amazing atmosphere, advanced AI, and thought-provoking story-line, and all of the emotions you experience when you play a game.

If we try to hold on to the dated term that all games have to be "Fun" then video games will never advance as a medium.

Don't speak for "most" older gamers. I've been playing games for 23+ years, and IMO the games overall just keep getting better. You sound like a bitter old man screaming "back in my day,. iblah blah blah". Seriously there is always more bad games then good. It's been that way forever. There is also more bad then good in TV, Movies, Music, etc. No one can ever please everyone. If you can't find fun in modern games it's you. Not "us" or the games (older gamers). Maybe go take a walk outside uphill both ways in a blizzard and come back in a few months. ;)

Fun and good graphics are not mutually exclusive. "Fun" is a verily subjective term. Makes no damned sense to suggest Wii games are more fun because of the difference in visual presentation. If you find Wii games more fun then good for you. But it's certainly not because they have poor graphics and no blood.

I love Nintendo but you sir are clearly blinded by nostalgia, you'd be right that a lot of games on the PS3 and Xbox 360 have blood in them, but look at the Wii exclusives Madworld, House of the Dead: Overkill and No More Heroes. Oh and lol at you saying Little Big Planet was going to be on the Wii, where the hell did you hear that? Even if it was it wouldn't be as good because it wouldn't have the physics, level creator or abillity to play other peoples levels online.

it does sound odd, but most of the hype came from the other factions who have the wii as their second console.Sure, some sheep hyped it, but i hyped it more because it was a beat erm up more than anything.In that area though, it turned out to be a dissapointment

look at how banjo, viva piniata and LBP flopped though.All great games, but 360 owners wern't realy intrested in banjo and VP and LBP didn't become as big as it should have been.Hell, look at valkyria chronicles, a real mature game, but because it wern't a blood and guts game, that flopped too.
