Interactive environments? You say that like it's new or something. PS3 and 360 games will have interactive environments. Ever hear of Little Big Planet? Everything in the game is interactive. :|

LBP is my most hyped ps3 game (mgs4 who?)

it's not competing about the environment though... it's more of a co op geared game... which is where the console excels

doesn't mean it's close to crysis level... nothing is pumping the same amount of polygons there, and it's more of a 2d platformer environment than a 3d fps one

don't try to argue it though, the ps3 and 360 games won't be able to match it's strength

Of course it's not on the same level, PC is always ahead of consoles by a few years in terms of graphics.

But besides graphics, Crysis doesn't have anything amazing, new or innovative. The way you're talking, it seems like you think graphics=next gen. Which Phil Harrisons "Game 3.0" speech shot down months ago.

Well, look no further than Little Big Planet or Half-Life 2. MotorStorm also has some very good physics.

I didn't say that you flat out said you think graphics are next gen. I said that the way you are talking, it seems to me like you think graphics=next gen.

And you're only basing your statments on consoles on current or announced games. Remeber that a consoles life can go up to a decade. Games will only get better in the 360 and PS3's next 8 years. Plus, the PS3 has teh Cell!

Wow, I am so sure you played all three games.  Metal Gear and Halo 3 are two COMPLETELY different games I don't even have to add GTA IV in there because that would be silly.  Also, are wii owners going to get to play Assassins Creed? Are you guys going to consider that a shooter as well? In fact the only reason I have the wii was for Legend of Zelda, and now i'm just waiting for super smash bros brawl.

I wouldn't call those games shooters by the traditional use of the word, but perhaps the point he or she was trying to make is that guns and shooting feature prominately in all three of those series.

I'm not saying that that is bad in and of itself, or that there's not a long history of those types of games. However, it feels like to some extent they are overshadowing other types of games. Platformers, brawlers, space shooters like R-type, are all disappearing.

sans LBP , which i've seen in video form, i've played those games you mentioned

they have very good physics... but they're NOT crysis level, you seriously can't argue that

and graphics != next gen, power=next gen physics however

yeah things will improve, but i don't see consoles ever able to handle crysis like physics... they're too limited

 most of the people in this thread dont care for those games because they will most likely flop. Since the N64 nintendo systems have had barely any good third party games.

That's because N64 didn't have CD support. And Gamecube didn't have an online system and just didn't sell.

The Wii is way different.
