[QUOTE="Renegade_Fury"][QUOTE="Arach666"] There were a few tracks that I liked, like the Yamato boss music(the pal version though, the ntsc version is so much faster that it ruins it for me),but overall it was pretty underwelming in that regard. Honestly,I do prefer the original game, nostalgia or not I still can have a great time playing it even today, but SoR 3,not so much.Arach666
I'm the complete opposite, because I have such a hard time playing 1 now. I had 2 and 3 since '93 and '94 respectaviley, but I only played 1 every now and then if my cousin rented it. Now that I have the game though, it seems so much worse than I remember. It plays absolutley nothing like the other two which is why I think all the praise it gets is just because of nostalgia.
It´s all a matter of perspective I guess,SoR1 was easily the one that I played the most,it was one of my very first Mega Drive games so I had a long time with it,especially when playing with some friends from school, and the funny thing was that, even wen I already had SoR2 all my friends that came by my house always wanted to play the first one lol,so in many ways I think my favourite SoR game is actually the first, even though the second is obviously better.Yeah, I won't disagree with that. Streets of Rage 2 came with my Genesis, so it was my first exposure to the series. I used to play it with my dad, cousin, and my litte brother all the time so it left the biggest impact on me, and I actually still play it with my brother pretty often. When I got 3, I'll admit I didn't like it that much, but after playing it for so many years, I've now come to really love it. I can nitpick what's worse about it in comparison to 2, but it's still a blast to play, and I'd easily give it a 10/10. If I had owned SoR1 for just as long, I wouldn't be so jaded towards it, but after not playing it for so many years, it's not easy for me not to criticize it. The soundtrack is amazing though, so I will definitely always give it that.
