Games that are overrated due to nostalgia

They are overrated before even being released, unfortunately.

It's a difficult one because I really enjoy Wolfenstein and Skyrim but thinking rational they probably are a bit overrated.

Lots of them, but the problem are not the games, but people who can't tell the difference between blind nostalgia qnd healthy nostalgia.

I love retro gaming and still play my Megadrive and Amiga 500 regularly, but i'm aware that gaming (and games in general) are much better these days. It's common for me to play a modern indie game that feels like a much better version of this or that classic i love.

Sonic popped up here a lot less than expected TBH.

OP used an example that contradicts his point. Jet Set Radio is not being overrated due to nostalgia at all, but on the contrary is underrated today.

Jet Set Radio got a 94 Metacritic score for the DC back in 2000. But when it got re-released for the PS3 and Xbox 360, it only got Metacritic scores in the 70s. Jet Set Radio is underrated today, not overrated.
