actually you need to be a grade school drop out to get hired by gamespot now a days.Â
Killzone 2 looks so awesome, judging by your sig. Wow. On topic: I've never trusted Gamespot for anything--and the Mirror's Edge review is a testament to that. I really only use 1UP for my reviews.Wow, I can't belive this guy made such a big deal about 1 mistake. So people complain about overly positive previews, and some one comes along and tries to ammend for that. The only problem is, he makes a slight mistake, and has to re-edit (Stealthily apparently :rolls:. Yes, because I wouldn't be questioning his credibility even more if he had left it in.). Now someone that translates this to, "OMGZ GAMESPOT CREDIBILITY FAIL!". Seriously, that dosn't add up. A minor error in the writing of a preview hardly destroys your credibility, Mr. Hyperbole. This is just an excuse to jump on the Gamespot hate band wagon. WasntAvailable
The way I read it, he made a mistake that pretty much implies that he had'nt actually tried it. Have'nt played the beta myself but I fail to see how you can do so and not notice a destructible and movable enviroment.

Yeah. Though if you ever need a dosage of Jeff, just go to Giantbomb, his new site!
Was that advertisement? Who cares, the site rocks! :D

That's just as bad. He gets paid to do this s*** and he didn't even play it? This is his job and he just made stuff up? This is ridiculous .Â
[QUOTE="insanejedi"]Okay, so if Guy Cocker is not credible, than that review of Little Big Planet is out the window Cows. You can't have it both ways. Either accept what he says or reject it.ReaperV7
huh lol? your giving a choice on which bias thing to pick from?Â
If Guy is not a credible person, than any other piece of writing he has done is then disregarded for.Â
I thought this was really funny  :
" Calling the game static is a valid point fi you mean that a building, which is designed to be still. Isn't moving around and turning into a Gundam. However it doesn't seem that Mr.Cocker had a building turning into a mech in mind. The player is in a city, much like Call Of Duty 4 the buildings aren't moving, and outside of doors, aren't interactive. You better believe Mr.Cocker didn't find any problems with COD4 however, or any other game with static buildings. "
I believe that the games should have a board of at least 3 gamers giving their thoughts on the game. All three should give a score and you add em up for a total. Maybe 2 hardcore gamers, and one casual gamer. Thats how it should be handled. IIJuggaNottIIFamitsu is perfect IMO. They go by a smilar system except its 4 people.

Perfect......4, a even number too. I never heard of that site, but I was watching gametrailers.com and they had a bunch of industry guys that gave their thoughts on a few games. One guy was just some entertainment head, and the other two guys were fanboys for other consoles I believe. lol. Naah, I dont remember who they actually were, but they gave their thoughts on how the game would effect the industry/and other stuff like gameplay etc. Gamer point of view, entertainment point of view and others too, just cant remember.

Oh Famitsu is the number 1 video game mag in Japan though :P. More NA sites should take their system into consideration. Â
cows one day: "MGS 10 on GS everyone is owned best game this gen"
cows next day:"ZOMG how can GS say this about *insert PS3 game here*, it has no credibility"
Feel my pulse: Isn't it just racing with my anger over this egregious error. We should start an Internet petition and write to our congresspeople.
Its just shocking that a reporter could make a mistake. Skip petitions. Lets tar and feather him and make him walk through hot coals to teach him not to err again.

I agree with you to a degree. But his 'mistake' was SO obvious and ridiculous, it should be called out.
Let me guess, if and when GameSpot gives Killzone 2 a 9.5 or even a 10, they have the most credibility without any doubts right. :| Or you can look at things from a real world perspective and realize that Killzone 2 is a sequel to the most mediocre shooter called Killzone. It's that simple, no conspiracy, no nothing. Also I find it strange the only ones complaning are fanboys who prefer the PS3.

mgs4 was developed by Konami, not sony. If you look at most ps3 exclusives from sony you will notice that all of them scored much lower here on GS.
From the "LemmingSpot Confirmed" topic that was apparently closed:
I love how people take such little things and blow them out of proportion in such amazing ways. I can't speak for Guy regarding his Killzone 2 preview specifically but there are any number of possible explanations for this, from an honest mistake to an error in an earlier draft of his preview that made it into the final product because he didn't actually post this article himself (much more likely). Looking at edit logs of this specific story, it's clear that the mistake was caught early--a mere five hours after originally posting--and corrected.LarkAndersonÂ
This is absurd. If you want to look for bias in the media, how about looking for it in the newspapers and TV shows that cover actual news? In the grand scheme of things, nobody gives a flying *beep* about credability of some stupid gaming website. The author of that article writes as if it's some grand injustice that requires a revolution. Complete rubbish, not to mention that it seems to be an honest mistake.ScrunchMuppet
sorry but absurd is what you are saying, because these people are paid to be professionals and not invent absurd things about a game ,because what he did can fasely influence many people that are interested in a product and these people can make decisions to buy that product or not because they believe in the credibility of the site and i know this is only a preview for a game but if every site commit the same mistakes then we would not have reliable information about a game that we are interested in purchasing.I do not know the reason for that mistake but or he simply does not play the game or he love his 360 or there's money involved underneath the table.Because in this war microsoft VS sony there are many interests to get the best slice of the market and these information from these sites such as reviews and previews affects many people and all the ads from the games we see in the sites are often very very well paid and sometimes that money may influence some reviews if you know what i mean.
But obviously, these things do not happen only on this site, but for you it's only a simple error
sorry for my bad english

Awesome, lets get in a better reviewer and give LBP a 9.5 ;)

That is stretching it a bit far...
Can we cut the conspiracies here? Seriously? There is a new one almost every week, and it has always changed, from anti-MS to anti-Ninty to anti-Sony to anti-PC. If you think the place is biased, leave. No one is forcing anyone who is unhappy to stay. IGN has a rather active forum, why not check it out instead of just trashing the place?
