Oh god, casuals actually want this piece of s***? Are you kidding me? Ugh, my fellow Americans, can you not jump on this stupid bandwagon for once? :xbbkkristian
It's not worth getting all worked up over. Of course the preorders are going to sell out. This happens for every console release.

The problem is that you can't sell your games. You can only trade them in for what a few select stores like Gamestop are willing to pay. You cannot get the market price.

GameStop like everyone should know only has a limited supply of launch Xbox ones much like they only have a limited net of ps4's at launch. They are sold out so that means they are sold out. No other way of interpreting it. We don't know how many units they were given or how many pre orders they took for the system.

Who cares. I keep all my games to play down the road eventually. Plus every store rips you off.

I have a friend back from high school that now manages a local gamestop. Last time I went in they were all touting about the ps4. Of all the customers that came in.. I heard them ask at least 5 people about preording a ps4.. but not an Xbox One. This was about a week ago. Ofcourse this is all just "my friend said... my gamestop did this.." talk.. nothing official.

I put games that I don't like on Ebay and get what they are actually worth.

"We were only given an allocation of 16 Xbox Ones but we have 60 PlayStation 4s and we're still taking orders," the manager of a Calfornia-based store said.

I don't think I've ever actually sold a game on Ebay to somebody I even know, let alone would call a friend.

retailers should stop selling x-bones completely as a response for taking away used sales from em

AmnesiaHaze

Gamestop though wants to sell Xbox One. I was in one couple days and the manager was trying to talk this lady out of pre ordering the PS4 she wanted and trying to talk her into a xbox one. They push xb1 hard because it will mean a ton of money for gamestop.

Microsoft has made it if you want to sell or trade a used game you have to do it through a participitating retailer because the game has to be invalidated from the original game owners account and be revalidated so it can be sold as used to someone else. That means huge huge money for gamestop because they will be one of the few places you can buy and trade used games. Flea markets, garage sales, ebay, amazon marketplace, craigslist, and so on will be unable to do used xb1 games because its all person to person. Id dare say a vast majority of little mom and pop style game stores wont be able to either.

But gamestop will be able to use microsofts system for trading and selling used games. They will get the vast majority of xb1 used games because you wont be able to do hardly anywhere else but maybe like bestbuy or some other larger company that deals in used games.

Gamestop is all about doing whats good for them, not whats good for the customer so they will sell what will get them the most profit. And lamestop employees are pushed into pushing products on customers like pre selling games, gamestop power up reward cards and so on because if you dont meet your quota you get chewed our, hours cut or even let go.

Im sure they will try to sell PS4 also but with its wide open DRM policies gamestop will have to share used game sales with everyone openly just like they do now which will make them money, but not as much as it will with xb1

Bad news. If in the same statement they state they'll buy as many PS4s as possible, then this means that Microsoft has sent them a message that they are unsure what their production will be like--low yields in producing launch units or uncertain how many they actually can produce.

First of all, let's get the details straight. 1. Yes they are sold out at Gamestop retailers, but you can still order the consoles online at Gamestop.com. You can order them on Amazon.com as well. 2. Microsoft only allocated about 12-16 systems per store. Sony allocated 50-60 PS4 per store. Is this good or bad news. The Goods. 1. You can still preorder the system online. 2. Microsoft will most likely allocate most systems to Gamestop well before the system launches. The Bad. 1. Because Gamestop has sold out of initial XBox One - Day One launch systems, gamers may instead preorder the PS4. 2. Microsoft has a tendency of not getting enough systems made in a timely manner.Even if Microsoft does allocate more XBox Ones to Gamestop, chances are good that it will only be another 16 systems and not 30-40. So those systems will probably sell out quickly as well. This means gamers will have to stop by Gamestop retailers daily to see if more system have been allocated. 3. Gamers may end up having to wait until Jan or Feb before they can get an XBox One (or PS4 is they sell out as well).

It has nothing to do with being a follower, it has everything to do with a company that literally said "The idea of ownership is morphing" meaning that customers need to accept they dont own the games they bought and share ownership with microsoft.

Its about if you buy a game you cant sell it, trade it, or outright give to someone else unless you jump through microsofts hoops. They are telling you what you can and cant do with the very product you paid for.

Its about when they put a lot of limits on what you can do with with your property and consumers complaining microsofts response was "deal with it". If they werent saying deal with it they were explaining why its ok they are doing what they do and to just accept it. When people without xbl in their country or internet complained microsoft said "Buy a xbox 360".

It is about not supporting a company that is building its entire product line around what is good for them, what is good for the game game publishers. Not what is good for the consumer, not what is good for the paying customer. Their entire stance on everything so far has been to put themselves before their customers.

So Im not going to support a company that thinks so little of its own customers that keep them in business. I wont buy their products.

This entire xbox one thing has all been set in motion because microsoft is trying to push its problems onto its customers. Instead of fixing things themselves they charge more money and inconvience customers more. All the while telling customers to "deal with it" and that wont do anything but drive more customers away.

Maybe it is because I am older I believe in this because I am old enough to remember when companies always put the customer first. Anytime you ever had a problem it was surprising to not get good service, now it is automatically expected youll get bad service and its a nice surprise when you get good service. Companies were always trying to find ways to make customers happy because they wanted to earn their business, now companies expect our business and we have to earn it by jumping through all kinds of hoops to use the product. I understand times change but this is not a change I think is for the better.
