The Wii is casual with gimmicky waggle control?raskullibur
It has some casual aspects, that doesn't mean it is actually casual alltogther.
Waggle control is barely gimmicky, and even if so, it doesn't make it less of a console.

I agree with the response... the ps2 had casual aspects.. was it a casual system(yes, imo). And Sony loves that gimmickly controller with the Sixaxis.
Not really meaning to bash, but the main flaw for the Wii so far isthat it doesn't have many really high quality games. Only Super Mario Galaxy makes me feel glad I bought one.

There are plenty of high quality Wii games. Metroid Prime 3 and Resident Evil 4/UE for FPS, Zelda TP and Zack and Wiki for adventure, Paper Mario and Fire Emblem for RPG. Just to name a few.

Oh and friend codes and the lack of voice chat hurts too.
The online sucks compared to 360 and ps3.
The A.I's are last gen.
The Wii misses out onlots of good multiplats.Just_in
Online does lack a bit for the Wii, but games like SSB Brawl and Mario Kart should change that around, seeing as you don't need friend codes. But really, offline multiplayer > all. There's nothing more fun that actually playing with people that you know in the same room as you.
The Wii doesn't miss out on good multiplats. It has some great third party titles but haven't been marketed very well.

No, the Wii DOES miss out on alot of good multiplats because those multiplats are too hardware demanding for the Wii.

The fact that RE4 and Zelda are in reality just Gamecube games with added waggle , that makes the current lineup even more disappointing .
Also Wii online plainly sucks compared to the other two .
why cant we use graphics? come on just admit it. sheep will never get a game as great as this

Did anyone say that we can get graphics as good as that? Furthermore, did anyone say they cared of their Wii doesn't get graphics like it? No, and no.

I heard SC:L is awful.
I own a Wii, and I only have a few games for it because there are just so many better offerings on 360 and PC.
I do plan on getting SMG, but for now I'm content with The Orange Box, Halo 3, Mass Effect, COD4, Bioshock etc.
Zelda:TP was no way near as good as OOT, MM or WW, even though it was still good.
The main flaw with the Wii (aside from the lack of decent games) is that a lot of people don't seem to realise that imprecise gesture controls don't make a game immersive. No matter how you swing your Wiimote in Zelda, Link always swings his sword in about 3 different preset attacks; it's just not TRUE motion sensing.
RE4 worked well, and it would be great if it had some proper FPS' on it.

I mean really high quality. A few you listed there are really high quality, a couple not so much. Plus I wouldn't count RE4 and Zelda TP because they're Gamecube games. You could say it's all subjective I suppose, but as far as reviews go, the Wii hasn't done very well overall.

Metriod Prime3, Zack and Wiki and Fire Emblem are REALLY high quality games.Only thing I have against the wii is that you have to point at the sensor bar instead of the TV, and that the sensor bar length isn't long enough- though you can always buy a wireless one. Other than that, Wii's my favorite console at the moment.theheavydrinker

Really high quality debunks MORE than half the 360's library along with the ps3's.
Which one is it.

Please don't tell me you only use Gamespot reviews. They've made Wii games look horrible. :l
righto ill give ti a go. im a big wii fan but, like every platform, it has its problems.
1) although theres some quality titles on wii, it really does suffer from an awful lot of crap. despite being a year on the market, most 3rd parties are still tripping up when making wii games. yes the devs are to blame but it does mean wii gets more crap than any other console this gen. i know ninty dont want to upset 3rd parties but at some stage there just going to have to put the foot down like sony did during the early years of the PS2. and 3rd parties have to get their stuff together, theres no excuses for some of the crap coming out (like ninja bread man).
2) hardware (i wont mention graphics though, this is a seperate issue). powerful hardware can do more than just graphics (wish more devs knew this :P). physics will be lacking on the wii which is a shame, detailed physics and wiimote could lead to much fun. imho ninty shoudl have put a bit more grunt under the hood, especially in the cpu department (or maybe have a PPU to compliment it). the disc drive is also too slow. it seems slower than the GC drive which is very strange. MP3 takes longer to load compared to MP1 and 2 and its not exactly a hugely better looking game. if they werent going to have DVD playback, why on earth did they get a slow dvd drive? (thats basically what it is). a bit more ram would also have gone a long way, upping it to 128MB wouldnt break the bank. and finally the 512MB of internal memory. who the fuzz thought that a mere 512MB would do the job. it wouldnt be so bad but ninty also insist that software can only be run from internal memory which is just stupid imho.
3) online: i dont mind friend codes. i hate the way ninty basically act as a nanny. no way of communication between players and certain game modes locked off unless ure playing with friends. its completly idiotic, makes no sense what so ever. they released batallion wars 2....with no effective coms method....what was the bloody point? its just going to get messy. i know its a free service but ninty really do need to make it a solid multiplayer experience. im not not expecting xbox live but i do expect the basics of online play, an effective coms method and a reliable service. get it sorted ninty.
4) software permissions: ok whoever thought of the wiis current system of user rights management should be shot. they tied the user rights into the hardware itself. every wii has a unique code and thats ure account. its a flipping joke. if the wii breaks u cant return it to the vendor for an immediate replacement....u need to send it to ninty and be wii-less for a couple of weeks. seriously i hope someone was fired for that call. a simple app to transfer rights from one system to the other whould sort that out nicely. the DS has that system...why doesent wii?
[QUOTE="theheavydrinker"]Only thing I have against the wii is that you have to point at the sensor bar instead of the TV, and that the sensor bar length isn't long enough- though you can always buy a wireless one. Other than that, Wii's my favorite console at the moment.dotWithShoes

heh my bad =pThe Wii's main selling point, The controller, is horribly implemented in 90 percent of it's games.
Probably all of it's games could have been done on the Gamecube.
The online component is weak, friend codes are moronic.
The game library is substandard except for Nintendo titles and the occasional 3rd party game.
This is too easy :(:
Lack of any real workable online.
No HDD
Won't play DVD Movies
Friends Codes
Lack of decent adult oriented games (RE4 as an old port doesn't count).
Too much Mario & Zelda with virtually no other franchises worth note.
Overpriced VC games.
No official wireless classic controller - small niggle but everything else I have is wireless and it makes this a pain.
Console is a complete minefield of shovelware. You need to know your stuff if you are going to avoid the rubbish.
You can never get on it because your kids/your friends kids/your parents/your grandparents/your siblings are already playing Wii Sports Bowling again for the zillionth time.
So, apart from the graphics, sound, minigames and all of the above arguements it has no flaws Willy :P.
Friends codes suck, No Demos, No HDD, Wiggle waggle controls, not enough control for FPS games, not enough buttons for some games, Very poor 3rd party games, only a handfull of good games.
Those are the things I could think of off the top of my head but I still love the Wii.
The Wii is full of shovelware?
The online sucks?
The controller is a gimmick?
The entire game experience, not just the graphics, is last gen?
The games on it are insanely casual? I have no problem with lots of casual games, but there are very few real games on the console.

the ps2 is FULL of shovleware, pc>console online.
Name one "next-gen game" on the 360/ps3
Better yet name a game that couldn't be done on the pc?
