Gamestop reveals Metal Gear Solid 4 release date!

Well the guy said a DVD player isn't needed (and I agree it's not that necessary) but it's not like the Wii is all about gaming purity. I see a few "extras" that were brainstormed into the Wii to try to make it appealing to families (photo channels, mp3 off of SD cards, weather, news, messaging system, etc..)PhoebusFlows

The only thing bothering me about the Wii is the all too familiar road that sheeps would despise hearing. The amount of shovelware and that most of the developers are lazy and conservative, is ridiculas. If there's no 3rd party support, then this would be Deja-Vu all over again for Nintendo; a console that has no 3rd Party Support but changed how controllers are made.

Oh, and the bigotry that's showing from the fanboys are bothering me too. Even though I can't type it here in fear of getting slapped with a ban, there's this. There's more to life than video games. Video Games are like board games, they bring people together and give them something to do.

with the exception of MP, SMG, TP, and soon SSBB the wii has no "hardcore games"
and also wii-fit and nintendos lack of caring about there online service has made me not really want a wii

the wii is designed for casuals and i dont see it changing anytime soon, and games like MGS4, GTA4, DMC4, NG2, LBP, Burnout paradise, killzone 2, lost oddessy, and RE5 all comming out early 08 for the 360 and PS3 the wii just seems useless to me

the libarary being inferior is opinion only. And really, who needs their VIDEO GAME CONSOLE to watch a DVD movie? I personally prefer to PLAY games on my consoles. But thats just me.

Who needs a Photo channel, Weather Channel and News Channel? What about a simplsitic and highly time-wasting community channel called Everybody Votes? I prefer to PLAY games thank you

The wii is Nintendo only major product. MS and Sony have many more products and services than Big N. If you look at the consoles with an unbiased, un-fanboyed (is that a word?) view then you will see that all the systems have great advantages and disadvantages.

Wii

-Last gen graphics (and don't tell me graphics don't matter, because you know they do!)

-Somewhat responsive motion controls (a lot better than th ps3's but not even as good a mechanical mouse)

-Small size (perfect for travel)

-No DVD playback

-Terrible online play

-1 or 2 handed controls

-Bad third party titles and all the good games are hyped to the max

-Overrated as best in all forms (it is not)

-Very low system noise

-Might be best bang for your buck, if you can stand repetitious controls and games.

XBOX 360

-Hardware problems (red *cough* ring *cough* of death *sneeze*)

-Loud fans

-Great library of games

-Best online multi-player

-Great third parties

-Alot easier to find

-No motion anything

-Demos, Arcade, and Movies all on XBL

-When it comes to multi platform, This takes the cake

-Might be best bang for your buck, if you can stand blood, gore, and non-stop wii fan-boys whining.

PS3

-motion controls, though not very, erm... precise (Lair?)

-Built in high def player

-No backwards compatibility, unless you jumped in early

-True survivor. The little system that could. It is slowly making a comeback

-Highly maleable system (Linux)

-Jittery graphics, but still great

-PSP interconnectivity, which the Nintendo will soon be borrowing

-Might be best bang for your buck, if you can wait for it possible uprise

* most multiplatform games don't bring its own form of gameplay that makes it just as playable as the other systems (i.e. nba live 08, spiderman 3)

* most developers believe that the only way for a game to work with the wii is if the control has motion sensoring. (you could jus use the wii remote sideways like a controller, i got worried that would have been the case with super smash brothers)

* maybe its just me, games just dont seem to have replay value (i play them, beat them or stop playing in the middle, sell them back to the store)

* it seems like the wii is only for the nintendo flagship games (metroid, zelda, mario were great, but that seems to be it)

*some games make it annoying for you 2 move towards your face or something (you scratch your face, and you drop the gun that could have shot down the airplane and saved your sqwad, but its game over because it attacked you

I like it, and I want the VC, but the system has just as many faults as the other consoles, just in different forms. Nintendo failed to live up to the prelaunch hype but everyone still bought it. Sure, it is DEFINITELY catching up, but it still has a myriad of problems, just like the Xbox and PS3.

Unfortunately, noone here can comprehend the problems of their own system, so they make up BS excuses. EVERY system has unforgiveable problems, but noone can admit to any of them.
