Why am I laughing at this more than I should be?[QUOTE="GhoX"]Dishonored isn't about zombies. That alone is a huge plus in this day and age.hardmicroMean while its an FPS, which brings it down a notch lol j/k That's like saying Skyrim is a FPS game. Being in first-person doesn't make it a shooter. Dishonored is stealth action.
I call those zombies. Zombies in L4D are still alive with some sort of mad cow disease. Zombies in fantasy games are resurrected undead. Zombies in RE4 are people controlled/mutated by parasites. It doesn't matter where they come from, or whether they have non-rotten, half-rotten, fully-rotten or popcorn heads. They are damn zombies, and people are sick and tired of them.No but neither is Last of Us. They are the infected, and its a result of a fungus I believe.
They are really targeting the wrong demographic. I can't care or emphasise much about being a father with an estranged daughter. The largest segment of players are between 16-25, and I doubt very few of them are fathers, or want children in that age range in general. However, Last of Us is about the relationship between Joel and Ellie, and their journey, that you as the player are going to embark on.
We know nothing about its horror elements. How can you pull a "different and unique twist" on the survival horror genre when this genre doesn't even exist in this generation? From what we've seen in E3, it seems to be just another TPS. If their "twist" is that it involves human enemies, cover system and a lot of shooting, then that's hardly a survival horror game at all.Last of Us is a different and unique twist on the survival horror genre, and I'm really digging that.
[QUOTE="campzor"]they also say stuff like sony keeps offering the best exclusives OVER MICROSOFT but u dont see me making a stupid thread about it.loosingENDS
Best i you like short, linear, without much gameplay experiences
That is, if you are an extremely casual gamer
GT must be casual...thus dishonored must be much more casual than the last of us. U sure fell into that one. They both look amazing. Dishonored is most anticipated game this year ( Besides Hitman ), Last Of Us is my most anticipated next year.
That's like saying Skyrim is a FPS game. Being in first-person doesn't make it a shooter. Dishonored is stealth action.GhoXDid you not see the j/k? It was a joke! LOL you sound really anal and argumentive just for the sake of it. I don't know if I should even respond to you. Oh well, I'll go ahead and bite. Execpt Dishonered doesn't have alternative view modes, and is dealing with guns. Guns are a staple of FPS. Skyrim never had any.Dishonered looks to have a lot of them, in where a big part of the game will involve shooting(from what ive read) Thus the its a first person shooter comment, But regardless, I was obviously saying it all as a joke. If you werent so anal and looking to.argue, you would have realised that.

They are damn zombies, and people are sick and tired of them.GhoxThey aren't zombies, and wont behave as zombies. They are the infected, and besides that, have you not read, that the infected are NOT a big part of the game? Oh and speak for yourself! You ARE tired of them. You don't speak for every one else. I personally LOVE the way the infected are being handeld in Last of Us.
They are really targeting the wrong demographic. I can't care or emphasise much about being a father with an estranged daughter. The largest segment of players are between 16-25, and I doubt very few of them are fathers, or want children in that age range in general.GhoxWhat a delusional thing to say. Now I get it. You're a troll and or a hater. The Last of Us has racked up more E3 game of the show awards then any other game at E3 has. The gameplay footage of Last of Us on youtube has damn near 3 MILLION views as well, So obviously MANY and MANY ...we are talking millions... are more then excited for the unique twist Last of Us is on its genre.

To call it a third person shooter, shows how ignorant you are. When shooting was not in any way the main focus of the demo. Looking for supplies was, sneaking was, and that brutal and stunningly detailed close quarters combat was. By all accounts, its a survival game. If you still cant find that out by now, after everything that's been shown, and everything that's been said about Last of Us. Or you are simply ignoring it, Then either way, it makes you look bad. And that's your problem Look, we get it. You're a dishonered fanboy irrationally hating on Last of Us to prop up Dishonered. You don't have to discredit one game to prop up your game. And by doing that, you are creating the opposite effect. You are going to make others want to discredit Dishonered to spite you. I'm leaning towards you being a little trollish
Yep, and this means PS3 users win at the end of the day, for being able to play bothI like both games so both are winners in my book.

Halo 4 > BothMercenaryMafiaLOL no! How many awards has Halo 4 won? Oh that's right, zero! Halo 4 was just more of the same meh, and if any gaming site is stupid enough to award Halo 4 with its first E3 award, then you WILL KNOW that that award for Halo 4 was bought off by M$ (so cowardly) and that it was rigged

Err "nominated" versus Last of Us and Dishonered WINNING MANY, and being nominated for FAR MORE catagories. That's all that needs to be said. Please don't be a lemming There is NO way on earth Halo 4 should win ANY catagory considering the competition in each field. Halo 4 is just another Halo shooter. Its more of the same. If Halo 4 won one award, that would still be one too many awards that Halo 4 has won. Awards should go to games that are actually deserving.
[QUOTE="the_mitch28"]your calling watch dog a interactive movie? you know dishonored did beat that also Wow and we know so much about these games that we can already safely assume Last of Us is more film than game! This is pathetic clutching at straws.... The game looks good deal with it or buy a PS3 OP.Who knew? Actual games are better games than interactive movies.

Who cares about best of E3 awards, that just means they had a well put together presentation, doesn't reflect on the overall quality of the finished products. Let's wait till they release shall we and see which is the deeper experience
Not surprising. Dishonored definitely feels far more fresh than last of US, both gameplay and setting-wise. It also had much better demo than Last of US.
hardmicroI'm sorry, this is the first in years of posting here but I can't respond to this post properly. You have to realise the formatting is absolutely atrocious, reading through that is so difficult that the sheer effort outweighs any sort of discussion that can be had. Seriously, you've typed a sentence per paragraph. Again, A.i. partners have been done before over the years, active A.i. companions and games with a narrative structured around this have been done before. The Last of Us is a very directed game, which makes sense. They're not doing anything groundbreaking and they're not doing anything revolutionary - what they're aiming for surprise surprise is something very well executed. You can speak in hyperbole and profess your affection for the studio as much as you like, that's cool - but they're a good developer, there's no sense in talking in absolutes in terms of what's 'the best' in any sense. That's just plain immature.
THATS been DONE BEFORE LONG AGO! There is NOTHING interesting nor complex about that;)hardmicroNo there is something inherently complex about its game design and technicality. It has been done before long ago, we can wind the clock back to Rouge if you like; and we can wind the highly scripted action adventure back to Prince of Persia and Another World. Difference is one game is doing a helluva lot more than the other on a technical and design level; don't go around thinking that means its a worse or better game because of it, because nothing is definitive kiddo.

Still not banned? They really need an anti moron clause in the TOU.

He's a moron because he posted a link? Last of us will be a linear, scripted "cinimatic expireance" , much like the uncharted games. Just stating facts dude, chill.
Hm... Level 3, name is Jimmy Russle, and has 65 posts. Seems legit as f***.[QUOTE="jimmyrussle117"][QUOTE="SPYDER0416"]
