Good FFVIII isn't on there, but not a bad list, would put FFV up higher.

I agree with the top 3, and the omission of FF8. Swap 5 with 12 and that would probably be my top 7.

4,12 and 9 better then 7. I would have to say hell no. I never played 6 so I cant put my thoughts on it.

9 is better then 7 though, it received higher scores, it's graphically superior, the story is superior the OST is miles better and so is the battle system.

game didint age well graphically just like every other ps1 game.Might look better then 7 but thats not saying much when itself its still ugly now.I found the story and characters (besides areth) more interesting hell that chick zidane was with barely left a dent in my memory completly forgetable.I enjoyed the music more in 7 espcially one wing angle easly beats it.I enjoyed the materia system as well. Now after all this is said and done ff9 is still a good game just not better then 7 in my eyes.Also playing the scores game doesint mean jack really.

I personally couldint stand x love story. I hated and still hate that awful water romance scene.

It's not even a series.. It's a line of similarly styled RPGs.. XIII, XIII-2 and XIII LR is a series...

Ew at FFXII being that high up and at FFIII being there at all.

FFVII is my personal favorite but I'm alright with FFVI being number 1.

Zidane barely left a dent? He was the only character from the PS1 era who wasn't an emo, if anything squall and cloud were just mindless drones who had zero personalty, and one winged angel doesn't even compare to your not alone

I said that chick he was with not him. i actually like him alot.Also if your going to pick a song for ff9 pick something better then this since it doesint touch one wing.

I would switch IX and VI and switch X and V.

Nice to see XII get some respect and GT seems to love FFIX.

It was easier for me. I dont like GT or their website though still was curious to see the list.

OST being superior is very subjective, no shit a game that came out 3 years after is graphically superior and higher scores? you are wrong.

metacrictic is an irrelevant service, so don't bother.

Everyone who dislikes the game points to that scene. It's bad because it's intended to be that way. Tidus and Yuna do that because there's nothing to laugh at, and the result actually makes her laugh despite the looming despair of her inevitable and hopeless situation. It's still an awful scene, I don't think anyone would disagree, but is just one moment in an otherwise superb game imo.

Im not talking about the laugh scene. im talking about the whole water scene with them swiming together you constally see being shown around.

And that chick? she was meant to be portrayed as this innocent angelic creature, so ofcourse she wouldn't be bursting with personality, but she still took it upon herself to escape her mother and she and zidane argued alot which caused alot of chemistry and she was stubborn as hell.

And if you want to compare, here's more.

Watch any review of final fantasy ix, the first thing they point out is the stellar ost, now watch a final fantasy 7 review and you won't get any mention of that, because outside of aerith's theme, the ost was sub par at best.

Metacritic isn't an irrelevant service and neither is gamerankings, and they both have Final Fantasy IX above Final Fantasy VII

Yea its ranked high on that guys list it must be concret evidence.Again FF9 ost from what youve shown me is nice but just isint better to me.

I was going to say here comes everyone's personal list, but it would be as obvious as saying water is wet.

FF4 was impactful, however. The first FF game with an actual story that still holds up today. Active-Time Battle, where you have to think on your feet and fumble through spells.

That said, the argument about FF12 being refined is rather divisive to say the least.

Everyone will have a different list due to personal preferences.

My favourite FF is X followed by VII and that will take some beating to change.

I know VIII has it's haters, but XI makes the list and not it? Really?

A lot of people hated VIII for being emo but the story is good. It was the junction system that ruined VIII. So it sucks.

is this list supposed to be a joke, right? I mean, just look at where's FFXII, so it has to be a joke. 2 completely irrelevant main characters, absolutely boring story, a battle system where you assign gambits and the game plays itself... They just put the most traditional ones on top. And hard to believe that FFXI makes the list but FFVIII doesn't, this is so wrong.

9 is overrated as hell. The game wa a ccomplete step back from 8 in terms of battle system, concepts, and visuals. To put it above 7 and 8 and 10 is a total joke.

oh wow, and FFIII and FFV made the list too! 2 of the very worst FF games easily on par with FFXIII when it comes to fail.

I haven't played them extensively to do my top 10 but from what I have played, XI was significantly better than VIII, I wish they'd remake the early ones with new technology (because the ones I've played rocked story wise) and I really actually enjoyed X. XIII was a giant cow pat and I hope whatever happens they learn from it.

VIII was and still is garbage. I don't like FFX but at least it has some good things such as a great battle system.
