I know everyone is going to focus on b1tching about that top 2(probably #5 as well), and the heavy emphasis on MP here, and of course Sniper will come in to show how unfunny he is. And I get some decent money on Darklinks b1tch ass complaining about Half Life 2/Cod4/ and some nonsense about Quake. But I think the group is certainly a good list considering most lists tend to just suck. A lot of it seems to be impact based(and admittedly the top 2 are entirely console impact based), and sure some of them are games that aren't even best in their franchise. I'm not big on the order, and certain picks, but that's actually not too shabby.

Plus they get bonus points for knowing better. UNREAL FOR LIFE!! F*CK QUAKE

What a piss poor list, HLF 2 should be ether number 1 or 2 (probably 3 at the least), Doom should be around 5 ish, UT is at the right place, MW1 should be number 9 (that's being a little generous actually, I don't know if I would put it in the top 10). Everything else needs to gtfo specially goldeneye, that game aged so bad.

Not an FPS. It's a first person adventure game. It's all about exploration and puzzle solving, just like the classic 2D games it's based from. The biggest factor which differentiates Prime from actual shooters is the "shooting" mechanic, which isn't free aim twitch based (like any other title from Doom, to Halo, to COD, to Killzone).

Instead you have a lock-on system (not aim assist that only nudges the reticle but still requires player aiming, actual lock-on) so player aiming isn't required once you have the lock. Samus can strafe and jump and still hold the target. This is a critical feature in boss fights to target their weak spots, often themselves being a puzzle challenge.

I'm just going to assume they left it out so the other games don't look bad. They're not worthy of being on the same list as Metroid Prime.

my only problem with this list is that Unreal Tournament isn't #1

best fps i have ever played, and i played that game from 7th grade and well into my 20's. I grew up with that game.

Hmm...i actually agree with most of it but i would put CoD2 over CoD4, Halo CE over Halo 3, and Left 4 Dead 2 somewhere in the list.
