Gears 3 looks closer to Uncharted 1 than Uncharted 3

Honestly, even the water in Drakes Fortune (2007) looked better than it does in Gears 3.The infamous rocks with alge was something that was common in Drakes Fortune, and it looked better than it does in that Gears 3 screen shot.

Gears 3 has better special effects, as the explosions in Drakes Fortune looked terrible. But other than that, Drakes Fortune from 2007 is WAY more detailed than Gears 3 mp.

I look at the lack of detail in Gears 3....the lack of anti-aliasing in Gears 3... the lack of animations... the dull environments... and this is a game that is supposedly close to being finished and was only pushed back due to "strategic reasons" (they wanted a holiday release).

It's not even an argument anymore, anyone who has played both franchises knows Uncharted 3 is going to look WAY better than Gears3.

Why don't we just wait until GEOW 3 is released? Also, you are not comparing a beta multiplayer screen grab to a completed and finished single player game are you? Oh yes I think you are...

These threads are hysterical. Well this one is better than this one since I have this pice to prove it. Can't we wait to at least when we start playing the MP betas. I mean these bullshots and the outlandish claims are quite rediculous either way.

Have you ever even played any of the Gears franchise? There's a reason its scored pretty highly, a lot of people and critics find it to be a very high quality, entertaining game.

Guess you haven't looked at any quality feeds, even ones shown on Youtube. They look a fair bit better than Uncharted. Easily the best looking game.

And no, Gears 3 looks way better than 2 and especially 1. Have you even played those games recently? They look horrible.

Haven't tried the beta yet, but I've heard some pretty good things so far. I also read an interview with Cliff Blezinski. He said that Epic listened to a lot of the criticisms of the first 2 games, and they're trying to implement positive changes for the Gears 3. I hope that's the case.

I was just up in a friends house and he's playing hte beta now. It looks gorgeous! I didnt want to leave :( He was getting owned though haha :P

It´s already very polished. Well, i would say that Gears1 and 2 were the real betas of Gears3!

Uncharted 2 MP's is absurdly downgraded from the campaign in every area.

I did play Gears 2 with the giant Leviathan/Seaserpent level/chapter where you're attacked on the the boat and have to throw some grenades in its mouth and shoot his eyes out. Boring as...well tell sell commercials.Locutus_Picard

See the only problem with this assessment is that A) PS3 fanboys are very scared and desperate so they're going to flock to anyone who bashes Gears 3's graphics and just agree with them no matter the cause. B) Gears 3's multiplayer beta already looks better than Uncharted 2(Single player too). This is will be presented on the day the games are released to see how much damage controls cows will be doing. haha, no. drakes fortune still looks pretty dam good, but there are plenty of console games that are more impressive. and I'm not just talking about the games everyone brings up in graphical discussions.

And RAGE will beat all of them technically anyways.

I honetly think that Uncharted 3 will be great fun to play, but the gameplay i've seen makes it look worse than U2, especially that burning house clip where the textures are like PS1 quality graphics. Gears 3 is unquestionably an improvement over gears 2, which itself was not a bad looking game. If they've managed to get the frame rates higher, and the resolution higher, and higher resoltuion textures... then its already past Uncharted 2 quality and therefore U3.

Still, i'm getting both.
