Gears 3 looks closer to Uncharted 1 than Uncharted 3

dont care which will look better, i'll make sure to get both UC3 & Geow3 since both will be awesome games !!!!

To be honest I consider this A BIG LEAP in terms of graphics for Uncharted. Among Thieves looked amazing for a 2009 game...but it obviously had jaggies here and there. I made a thread about it not long ago. And these pics only re-confirms my statements. This looks magnificent.

Plus, These photos were all in-game gameplay photos. These are direct feed photos from the chateu gameplay.

Lets just say it already. UC3 has produced the absolute best graphics on consoles, once again. :P

UC3>GeOW3 it's just the way it is. Naughty Dog > Epic. Epic has only made a few good games i.e. Unreal 1 & 2. then it went downhill from there. Naughty Dog, on the other hand, kept on improving from one IP to the next. from Crash, to Jak, to Uncharted. can't wait what IP they'll give birth to when the PS4 is released!rumbalumba

Sony fans really hate the 360 and every game on it lol! I dont see any 360 fanboy saying that Uncharted 2 is a bad game! On the other hand the amount of ppl claiming that Gears is terrible, looks terrible, runs on the outdated Unreal Engine, etc is impressive :o

Even the water looked a lot better in Drakes Fortune (2007) than it does in Gears 3 (2011)drakekratos

I believe that a particular aspect of the graphics, water in this case, doesnt equal better graphics. Take Halo 3 as an example.

I say wait until UC3 comes out to see how it looks.

I remember seeing all the promotional stuff for UC2 and then when I actually played the game it didn't look as good.(still a good game though)

Naughty dog is good at one thing and that is not using unnecessary assets in order to spare more for details in smaller scenes.

They do good texture work for such a resolution but it will look really flat and low res once you view it from a certain angle.

I'd say UC3 looks about the same as UC2 and that isn't surprising since there are more severe limits of what you can do with a console that is aged.

The art direction is what becomes more important and being cosistent throughout the visuals of the game.

I will never understand what people see in uncharted 2

I mean it's not a bad game... but I just don't get all the praise it gets

Not really dude, the final game actually looked better than the promotional shots, they added SSAO when close to final release. The game does lack AF but most of time the texture quality are quite good with great variety. UC3 looks quite bit better at this stage with better HDR lighting, MLAA, much improved fire effects and the best has yet to be seen obviously, the sand and water effects should blow you away.gpuking

Actually UC2 looks worse than the promotional shots.

And UC3 looks the same as UC2 just with MLAA but it still has lots of jagged edges flickering.

And since I am a PC gamer too nothing on consoles will blow me away.

Most PC games coming out look better than anything on console even the multiplats.
