there's a clear difference between the people who have played uncharted games in this thread, and people who have just seen screenshots/videos of the game. It's not wise to comment unless you've played all the games from both series, seriously.

also, gears 3 having amazing graphics does not mean it will automatically be the better game like the people who were posting screenshots of the game were pretty much suggesting, lol. It's that gamespot SW effect where people start jumping straight to graphics...

The whole feel of the world just did not fit, Uncharted 1 has some areas i liked, but were few too (the ruins with the water and the clifs overlooking the sea)

I did not find anything as appealing in Uncharted 2 unfortunatly

No, you said "envirnments are just totally uninspired and common". I understand that an art style is entirely subjective, the creativity of the environments however are not. Im sure you loved the train level in Gears, was it inspired there and not inspiring in Uncharted 2?

What about the destroyed city, this is a reoccurring motif in both Uncharted and Gears. Then throw in Shambala or the Himalayan mountains and Egyptian museums. The environments are actually one of Uncharted 2's strong points. You may not like the "art style" but you cant feasibly argue that UC2's environments are uninspired.

Both of these series have had 2 games, however Epic have taken the oppurtonity to build a story arc that will reach its dramatic conclusion in the 3rd chapter, Naughty Dog have opted for stories that start in game and the longer this goes on the staler the Uncharted series is going to get, despite being technically superior and arguably having better gameplay, whose with me when they say Gears 3 will own U3 if they go head to head next year.

I loved Uncharted 2 but it's such a vanilla Gears. Gears is way more fun. Plus Uncharted 2 is filled with the biggest noobs i've ever seen. When I still played the global average k/d ratio was 0.98 rofl.

Gears has better multiplater, characters (Cole) and shooting mechanics.

UC2 had better graphics(Far more pleasing to the eye) Better sory, better writing, better voice acting. Sadly it had crap "platforming" and terrible solve themself puzzles. Still, it had more variety then Gear straight shooting.

I prfer the Gears series. For a game which many consider a platformer, UC2 falls VERY short, and for a game i think is a TPS, the multiplayer and shooting mechanics are not up to it's main competition.

Seriously. I must have missed it. Gears is one of the most boring game series I have played. Cant even finish the 2nd one.

So what you're saying is "Alright, Uncharted is better than Gears in pretty much every way, but Gears has a continuous story (just a continuous story, quality isn't important here, the arc's existence is), so Gears 3 is going to own Uncharted 3!"

I don't get it.

I am replaying gears 2 for the first time since launch (borrowed it from my cousin), and I have to say the game is still a blast to play but the story and dialogue are TERRIBLE. Some of the things they say, and the way the voice actors say them are just cringe worthy. Uncharted is the overall better package than gears is with better graphics, better story and better voice acting imo (and im sure in the majority of peoples as well).

I think you missed my point, not that I'm surprised. The most the global average k/d ration can be in anygame is 1:1, for every kill someone dies. That's just the way it works. The variable at play that can lower it is suicides, which are deaths with no kills. The only thing the global k/d can do is get lower, it can't get higher.

Actually, I guess it could go up with double kills from grenades.

Dont be like that...Gears 1 brought us next gen graphics,they did not have time with Gears 2,it was VERY rushed but Epic is very well known for their rendering engines,and now that they got Cryteks engine architect.They could deliver...

errrr...no? The story, platforming, characters, script and story of Uncharted 2 is wayyy better than Gears of War 2. GeaOW3 might have the slightly superior gunplay, but thats about it :P
