I thought MW2 had like 2+ million preorders before it was released .... I belive they mean within the same time frame, we will see if it can hold that record till it launches.

No it's not. The only reason it's raking high Pre order numbers is because of the BETA. Gears won't go anywhere near HAlo/COD sales. I love gears but it's just not as popular as those.

Because they been putting so much focus on the MP this time around. That's all they seem to talk about and show. I just wanna see some new SP content.
All we kept hearing about Gears 2 is the story was sooooo much better and it would make you cry. Now it's MP is sooo much better you'll have more fun.
What made the story so great? It was just another shallow plot with little-to-no character development. You can't really put GOW1/2 up there with games like Planescape: Torment, can you? And I've seen better gameplay than that. Gears of War claims to be a tactical shooter when it's really just run-and-gun, with cover mechanics added in. There's no proning, crouching, leaning around corners, etc.
Other than that, most 360 owners are pre-ordering this game because they're not very interested in any of the other games coming out this year, whether they're exclusives or not.

Forza 4 nuff said ;) This is true. I hope that game delivers as much as GT5 failed. Although, I still play GT5. It just could of been so much more. Agreed. Still a solid sim though :)

Well, Epic already said that the campaign will be bigger and will support 4 player coop! Also, unlike Gears 2, Gears 3 is having a 3 year devtime. I believe it will be a very complete and polish package.

the only IP they care about is gears, and that multiplayer is as meh as you can get. i'll agree that the storyline is quite fantastic, but i regret all the time i spent online with those games (which is what we're supposed to care about the most, right? RIGHT?). furthermore, cliffy b's attitude toward pc gaming is quite startling, as the pc gaming community used to praise him. i think the better question here is: what the hell did we do to him?
dont even say 'you pirated ur games lololol' because apparently your 'growing problem' of used game sales is making your companies 'lose money'. not even that, but console games aren't that hard to pirate at all and i know a kid down the street who has done it before and one of my sister's ex-boyfriends had multiple pirated games. if thats not icing on the cake, then what cliffy b actually said about PC gaming is quite disturbing. saying "...what's driving the PC right now is 'Sims'-type games and 'WoW' and a lot of stuff that's in a web-based interface..." is definitely telling us he has no idea how to appeal to the pc market, so he just blames us for not liking UT3 and runs off to the consoles. sounds a lot like what crytek is doing right now with their whole 'blame it on the PC community' game plan. thats why i hate epic games. ruining their franchises, dissing PC gamers, creating a mediocre online-based IP and cliffy b turning into an arrogant clown.

What, Gears 1 and 2 met the hype and were AAA games. Why wouldnt i trust a dev that have never desappointed me?
