People pre-ordered to get in on the beta. I know a couple people who just wanted to play the beta and aren't going to get the actual game.

not surprising the game looked great and while some of the mechanics pissed me off its single player will be amazing just like 1 and 2's.

beat halo 3 in pre orders? wow, but lets take into account of the beta access and delay in time..but good for epic

Of course it is for these reasons:

1.) Gears is really an established franchise now.

2.) There are more 360 owners to potentially buy this game than the last big exclusive. DUH.

3.) Its the only exlcusive to look forward to on the 360 this year :P.

My first two points shine light on the true reasons the pre-orders are high, and I'm one of those preorders.

unfortunately didnt make it in the beta :(

but its definately a 1st day buy, cant wait to see what happens next story wise and obviously spend countless hours on its mp :P

as a gamer all i'm interested in is what is on offer in terms of games (quality & quantity)...

So while I have no doubts Geow3 & Forza4 will both be great titles and i'll be getting both, it surely cannot be said that 360 had much on offer in terms of exclusives.. (not just this year)..

But if we want to close our eyes and focus on sales or else scores to somehow compensate the lack of exlusives thats another story.. Imo this year even if many PS3 exclusives didnt receive AAA scores as expected/hyped they still were great games (KZ3, GT5, SOCOM, Motorstorm etc etc).. also there are other titles coming up like inFamous2, Uncharted3, Twisted Metal, Resistance3 (and others I probably forgot).. So do you really think when there is such a choice of great games, one has to worry about which is a system seller or which will sell 5+ million copies? I dont think so..

Imo even if Geow3 & Forza4 both got 9.5 or 10 scores its still not good enough.. 2 great exclusives in 1 whole year is simply not enough... imo a huge deciding factor on which console we choose is its exclusives... If it was about multiplats we'd go just for PC's in order to get the best version ;)

Are you serious? I'm not the one who brought up sales. He used sales as an excuse to ignore Forza 4 as an actual exclusive.

GEOW isnt my cup of tea altho i do enjoy it co-op i dont think i'll buy it day 1.

LOL, so true on what both of you said. Cows usually like to brag about PS3 having many exclusives, but it's really 3rd party games that's getting more attention on PS3. :lol:
