Well unless they make a Gears of War game for the next gen consoles the PC version of the first gears will always look the best, it looks better than any console game.

Is it even possible for UE3.5 to run on 60 fps when restricted to console hardware?
Teufelhuhn
lol yup. Everyone knows how weak console hardware is.[QUOTE="anshul89"][QUOTE="Teufelhuhn"]This has to be the least surprising news that I'll hear all day.Teufelhuhn
Keep telling yourself that.... if it makes you feel better. HDTV's run at 60hz or more so a 30 fps isnt all that great. And The Unreal engine 3 is still going to be the Unreal engine 3 there wont be any real graphical improvements since Gears 2 was pushing the 360 to its limits as it is(according to Epic then). The difference between Gears 1 on Pc and Gears 1 on 360, is like playing CoD on the wii and then moving to CoD on the 360. The reason why the games that push the consoles to their limits limit their framerate to 30 is because they (the consoles) cant keep a steady framerate above 30fps. it isnt because they want to make the game look better its because the hardware, mainly the limited memory that restricts them from doing so.
Microsoft did not claim 1080p, 120fps on all games, and its users have no tried to foster that over the years as some sort of fact.
so its perfectly understable when lemmings are down on ps3 games for being 30 fps, Since cows should claim anthema on all games 30 fps on their system.

Thats because they all didnt run at 60 fps. Again 90% of them were 30 fps, the games that can run at 60 fps are games that dont tax the system, simple as that. each generation of hardware has things it can run with ease and as time goes on and the hardware is pushed to their limits the framerate and resolutions are the first things to be cut to save memory.

Didnt I already answer that with my post. Of course they can design/develop a game thats not pushing the system to its limits and choose to run 60 fps. Thats not the issue. Why do you think Sony and MS got rid of their standard target of all games being at 720? Its because devs were having to make sacerfices in graphics detail to cut memory down to allow 720. Running a game at 30 is less demanding on the hardware then running at 60fps but it depends on the what graphics engine, detail being used and resources being drained. Dantes Inferno is agame on the 360 that devs had to decide between lower overall graphics quality and keeping the fast paced gameplay with a smooth 60fps, or better graphics and keeping it at 30fps.

Console gaming does not fail, there are many great games to be enjoyed. Gears plays just fine at 30fps, stop trolling.

With games, most certainly hardware being weak plays a role in deciding in using 30 or 60 fps and resolutions.04dcarraher
TC, you're making statements out of nowhere. And from what I've seen, Gears 3 looks great and will give some good competition to the PS3 mastodons.

Gears 2 in the campaign def. was more than 30 fps in some spots. Not 60 but it felt like 45 or something
Says the console gamer who is stuck with 30fps [QUOTE="anshul89"]

Anything that plays above a constant 30fps is just wasting resources

Since this is System Wars my bet is that Marcus is going to put Mr. Drake in an arm bar and make him tap out like the J Crew Model ***** that he is! ;) Marcus > Drake :P you're joking right. character design, no, voice acting, no, anamation, no. just no.[QUOTE="KingTuttle"][QUOTE="Jrfanfreak88"] lol this is system wars...my response numbers are kind of low...shhhhhhracing1750
so many games run at 30 fps. Is this even an issue any more???beekayjay
Shouldnt be with games like gears, you cant notice the difference anyways. I have it on pc and if vsync is not locked it runs all crazy. I like a high framerate but in gears it seems 30fps is all that is needed.

yeah tbh i dont even know what we are supposed to talk about here. You say stuff like that and people say stop being a fanboy. But then you say oh hey look at this! a new exclusive ps3 game! and people are like, oh post that in the ps3 forums.. it makes no sense Dx
but isn't this system wars ? :?[QUOTE="anshul89"]

How about you chill out and stop making this about console gamers vs. pc gamers.VendettaRed07

The way I take it is people can debate games and syatems but not each other.
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person who cannot tell the difference between 30 and 60 FPS, it's just not a big deal to me.
Answer me this then, if consoles arent so weak why arent all console games at 60 fps, 60hz which is the native refresh rate for most HDTV's and monitors? Choosing 30 fps over 60 isnt a choice where we say I like 30 fps better then 60 ITS BECAUSE ITS A LIMITATION OF THE HARDWARE , 60 fps is better then 30, especially for fast paced games like racing, fightings and just about any MP game.
specs ?[QUOTE="Advid-Gamer"]
this one is better
anshul89
Dual core e84oo, 4 gigs ram, gtx285ocx, vista64. maxes out almost everything, there are better gaming pcs but this one runs games good enough that I dont NEED to upgarde as of now.

"Gears of War chap, Cliff Bleszinski, has clarified rumours on the frame rate for Gears Of War 3. It appears that this time they are favouring better graphics but at the cost of the frame rate.
"Our target is, and shall remain, 30fps,"he said, "When asked about 60 we always respond that we'd rather have the extra juice to put more on screen and stick with 30."
The clarification has been prompted after a Russian magazine published an articleon the upcoming game. According to the magazine the game will feature a new weapon which fires grenades under the ground with the explosive tunelling it's way towards your target. Each gun in the game will feature it's own unique execution move and multiplayer maps will feature constantly crumbling and evolving landscapes."

It's funny when a PS3 game comes out that easily looks better than just about anything on the 360, be it Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, God of War 3, etc. the lemmings quickly say "Oh well that game doesn't run at 60fps so no wonder it looks good!. Well, I find it hilarious that the next big title for the 360, Gears of War 3, will be running at 30fps in the name of better looking graphics. I like the evolving levels idea.
It still won't look as good as the PS3's finest exclusives.
Bus-A-Bus
Hmm...virtually ALL games this gen run at 30fps and Gears always ran at that frame rate...also here is early in game shoot of gears 3,it has a shoot to beat UC2 no doubt about it.
that does look pretty but so did all the alan wake pictures...leading to ALAN WAKE CONSOLE GRAPHICS KING!!!! threads...and we all know how that ended up. lets wait for the game to actually come out.

if you have a decent computer with internet access you can download the UDK and see the updates in unreal 3.5
