Gears Of War 4 thoughts?

Has there even been a thread on this yet? So, hyped or no? I'm personally intrigued but I wasn't blown away by the showing. They still have the solid as **** gunplay in action and looks to be the down-to-buisness TPS that we know and love. I'd like to see how they evolved the gameplay doe. This showing didn't really show much. Graphics were stellar mind you.

Just wish the demo wasn't so dark

Horizon and Uncharted 4 were far more exciting to watch

Graphics looked okay for an Xbox One game but I'm not sure how people are calling it more impressive than UC4, Horizon, Deus Ex, or heck, even Doom. I'd even say Arkham Knight looks a lot more impressive.

With regards to gameplay: there wasn't a whole lot of it in this trailer, the focus seemed to be on cinematic walking. But what was shown was... more Gears? Monster designs looked cool though.

Graphics were epic. Narrative seemed mildly interesting in the sense of "was this about lambent humans?" (glowing part) New enemies were cool.

I was expecting Cole Train and the gang to suddenly burst out of nowhere and save the 2. As long as we get the good ol' Gears treatment we've all been craving, a good campaign and a stellar multiplayer then I'm all for it. Can't wait for Gears 4.

You are either super into Gears or feel "meh" about it. I am super into Gears and I was left a little disappointed. Graphics were good, but as Stache said above, I was expecting the old gang not J.D. or w/e. Never cared for the campaign. I want to see vs and horde in action. People saying they want new games and that this series is tired are the same ones excited over a fourth Uncharted lol.

It's a great looking game and I was impressed with the visuals but Horizon, Uncharted, Doom4, and Deus Ex were on a different level.

My Thoughts:

If it looks like that at release it will be the BEST looking game across consoles.

Looks like it could be a good game but it'll be weird without Marcus 'Dudbro' Fenix.

Wasn't Judgement, Gears of War 4? It's the only one I didn't play, it looked like complete garbage.

Judgment may have been many things; but to say it looked like garbage (at least from a graphical standpoint) is utter bullshit.

I want to see day light gameplay. I bet it looks insane judging from how good anything in Unreal Engine 4 can look.

First GOW game for me. Kind of neat game play. Graphics are pretty good. Probably will get better as it goes gold

Judgment's cog vs cog only mp was a stupid move. Multiplayer was fun, and there was a horde defense mode...but since I primarily play TDM style games, I outgrew it fast.

Microsoft just acquired the Gears of War license just last year, so I think Gears 4 is probably still very early in development. Black Tusk was probably asked to put something together for E3 very quickly. I imagine that's the reason why it looks very dark and kinda crappy looking.

Considering the game is likely not launching for 1.5 years, I was surprised by how much they showed already. The graphics look quite good already, and they'll only improve.

That said, I'm not terribly excited for Gears. I liked the first game but it sort of grew stale for me after that.

I own all the GeoW games, but I wasn't impressed with the brand new GeoW only studios demo (Black Tusk now known as The Coalition). It's their first game though, but they have to sell me on spending $60 or not.

The gameplay and level shown was so-so and it was way too dark. Honestly, it wasn't the best stage demo by far. The graphics were decent, but not mindblowing, it looked like GeoW.

MP wasn't shown at the presser, but a side note on GeoW: I also hate Team Deathmatch in GeoW, so hopefully they aren't trying to push that stupid mode into GeoW since Warzone and Execution are where it's at (I got two turntables and a microphone). I noticed the GeoW Ultimate had two options, horrible Team Deathmatch which WAS NOT A GeoW staple back then and King of the hill which is also a terrible mode half the time because people play it like Team Deathmatch. BRING BACK WARZONE and EXECUTION.

One of the weaker stage demos of E3 imo. But I do like Gears and hope there is a fun game to be played. I am interested what other creatures I will be fighting other than that copy of the Desolate one from Hellboy.

Looks interesting but I was "burnt out" from Gears after part 3.

I think it looks intriguing, I've always liked gears, never been like a fanboy of it or anything but I think it's a good franchise and this looks like a solid continuation.

Looked even more lame than past gearts games

It looked like gears. I may be more interested if they go for a more survival horror feel instead of the Dude bro atmosphere the past entry's have had.

lol, they got the main character attempting a "Nathan Drake" personality change and dialogue pattern with this new game lol.

lol this gen we got MS copying everything Sony dose (games, attitude and buzz words) now and Sony copying everything MS did last gen (market strategies, exclusive deals, and multiplat reliance). They both are confused as hell about their direction.

It was a mediocre game imo. I didn't hate it but one campaign play through and a week and a half of MP and I was done with it.

After playing the GoWUE beta I'm stoked for G4 multiplayer.

Overall it looks like a Gears game. My interest is about 7/10.

As far as showcasing games at night it is the same as snow levels. Tomb Raider and Battlefront can't show their beauty while in the snow.

Looked better than I honestly went into it expecting it to look. Never cared much for the Gears series (only played 3), but the E3 trailer gave me Resident Evil vibes.

Didn't care at all for it.

Halo 5, BC and GOW4 next year ----> me needs to get a X1 asap.

Barely saw anything, cinematic walking, storm that comes and goes, so dark some alien mutant jizz and lights on his armor was the only thing you could see on the guy, then when we get actual gameplay its not very long and they're apparently fighting some mutant pangolins.

I really question why COGs have glowing parts on their suits, they clearly serve no purpose and in the environment in the demo being out in the dark with blue glowing bits makes it really easy for enemies to spot and kill you.

Game was a lot of fun, very solid game.

Hate Gears or love it, you have to commend The Coalition for showing a GAMEPLAY video in their first unveil. Most companies toss up a CGI trailer and falsely claim its an in-engine capture (as well an inaccurate framerate) and be done with it. Thank you Microsoft for not stooping to the levels of such scum.

Game looked beautiful by the way.

It was too dark and not enough action, but I am glad that Gears is going back to that dark feeling and the graphics do look nice.

But I am VERY anxious to find out what the new story is about, what are these new creatures and what happened to delta squad.

The demo was way too dark to really see anything!

It was very disappointing, sure it looked just like Gears and the atmosphere was not that bad, but it definitely lacked the wow factor that other games had.

How did you see a single thing in the video?

It's totally dark all through, animation aren't much improved either.

Butt ugly visuals with outdated gameplay that didn't age well at all.
