Further proof that people are still living with their parents if PC gaming is on top
Lets see a 300 dollar PC play Gears
Perhaps some of us want to spend more than $300 to get a better gaming experience than the Xbox360? Better games, better controls, free online, better graphics, better sound, mods..... the list goes on.
And "you teh live wit ur parants if u liek pc gamming" is just a pathetic ad hominem attack. It has nothing to do with the argument at hand.

Then buy a top of the line PC for 3000$+ and not buy the watered down 1500$+ version, K?
And I don't want to hear the "you can get a decent gaming PC for less than 1500$" crap

Go to the PC Hardware board.
Explain you want a gaming PC for $1500.
You'll have a rig that can play games like Crysis on high settings in DX9, 60FPS minimum.
And I DO have a great PC. It's in my signature.

Don't play it anymore then
I already spent the $400 for the system, assuming games would be exclusive. Just like the xbox, they should really stop using that "only on xbox" symbol...it's just a bunch of lies. Mass Effect is probably next to go.
Who cares if it's exclusive? Do you have a 1500-2000$ PC to play a PC version? I do and I don't care about a PC version.
PC games work like crap and you have to constantly buy new upgrades and configure things and upgrade things for the games to work decently.
PC gaming is a headache and I'm glad there is a game console like the 360 and XBL to make it like it should be to play a game - simple.

Green: PC's don't have a 33% failure rate, and most PC gamers ENJOY configuring things. And if you get a good system today, you'll be able to go at least 5 years without upgrading - the average life of a console.
Red: PC gaming: turn on PC, install game, double-click game shortcut, play.
Xbox 360: turn on console, turn on TV, put in game, sign up for payed XBL account, wait 5 hours for dashboard update, return console for repairs 4 times

I ordered a top of the line PC from a good company and let them put it together and I picked the best parts. I didn't buy it for games cause I use it for business and educational reasons.
If I can play a crap game like STALKER then I can play Crysis no problem, but I enjoy playing the 360 with my other friends that have a life.

Believe it or not, I've actually OWNED a 360. I sold it after I got it repaired for the second time. Lost $150 on that deal.
So, I guess all the developers cancelled their games for the 360 then? That's too bad--oh wait, they didn't? Then what is the big deal? A $400 system is a lot less than a $1000 PC capable of running this game. You know that when Gears is released for the PC I will be on to bigger and better things on my 360 right? Then he should not lie about XBL , on the other hand I can speak about PC gaming and how it is crap compared to gaming on a console you don't have to upgrade after a year or when a new game like Crysis comes out and lets you know you wasted 1500$+ just to play that last "great game" that hit the PC
A PC lasting 5 years for gaming is a joke, next year something better than Crysis will come along and the 45nm intel processor with 8 cores will come out and make everybodys PC look like garbage

And you'll spend more time fiddling with your PC to play a game than a person with a 360
But it's your time and you can do what you want with it, I just don't get why you herms act like the PC gaming is the best thing on this planet.

Maybe so, but there's no reason why the PC version, having better hardware, should have such a limited number of players.

Neal_Gore
True, but we get more content, so we'll be playing the game for longer. It'll look a lot better, too.
I'll agree that PC gaming takes more time and money than console gaming does, but we do end up getting more out of our games than console gamers - and since multiplat games are almost always 'at their best' on the PC, it could be argued that PC gaming is the best.

Geez, no wonder your bitter about PC gaming, you bought it the most expensive way possible and probably got screwed. Buying a PC with "top of line" parts if your not going to use it for games, and getting it from a "good company" and having them put it together (besides being so vague I imagine your exaggerating) is needlessly expensive and ill suited to what you said you needed (business and educational reasons).
I also love your logic that searching the internet for a good deal = desperate.
Fact is, as long as you've got a monitor, KB/M and tower, the bare essentials, you can probably get a PC which will max out Crysis in Dx9 for under $1000.

I'm sorry if that came off really hostile. I am in a cranky mood. Anyway, the beauty of an HDTV is that it doubles as a hub for movies and television entertainment as well as videogame entertainment. Don't forget you still have to pay for a nice LCD monitor to appreciate those clear crisp graphics and put that video card to good use.Yes, I realize this is significantly less expensive then an HDTV but an HDTV is bigger (or at least most of the time), and it is more applicable overall. ANd while XBL and DLC is more expensive than I would wish it to be, it would not even come close to the expenses of having to update my computer every three years. I suppose the majority of the current library of 360 games aren't impervious to becoming multiplat to the PC, but there will always be games that will never make it to the PC (and vise versa), and now while they may not always be worth it in your opinion, those games are there. I am just going to say that right now though.
If the 360 has a limited library in your opinion, that makes the PS3 library weak as well correct? I am curious about this, because as far as I know there are more games worth playing on the 360 right now even if some of those are available on the PC, and to say that the PS3 has a better lineup would mean you would have a double standard, which means you have an unacceptable bias of sorts.
I must admit however that it would be nice to not have to spend an extra $10 more on games for no good reason, but it sure beats the $1000 price point imo. Of course the funny thing is that I will probably end up getting a good gaming rig some day because there will be some games that I just won't be able to pass up. If I am really sounding like a jerk just tell me but I am trying to be as objective as possible.

Ya, ok.
We PC gamers live with the parents and steal their money to buy our gaming rigs.... and they also force me to take their money - oh noes! Or maybe we have decent paid work and enjoy the gaming on the PCs more as consoles for some reasons and we can actually afford it - just as some buy exotic cars instead of your avg. Toyotas.
But but but... it's teh uncofrotable!!! Yeah it is...
Not my setup tbh, but you see he is not alone with setups like that, guess his mommy is angry because his PCs take up a whole room in her house, where she could use it for a wardrobe or something else.
I've only 5 boxes and 3 monitors and a confty chair, altho I use them mostly for work instead of gaming, however there isn't games missing on them.

Man, that's so sickening. Having that setup to play WoW. It's great talk on the LOTR:O servers.
Clean them wires up!!!! Just kidding haha. I like PC gaming, because if Mass Effect goes to the PC I don't have to get a 360. Oh it helps that I get top of the line CPU's for dirt cheap so my $3,000 rig (who the hell pays $3,000 for a PC seriously?) doesn't cost me much more than $1,000.
$250 CPU X6800
$100 2 GB Ram DDR2 800
$150 Mobo Abit QuadGT
$30 DVDRWPio 112D
$100 PSU (Corsair 620x the best!)
$100 HDD (I like samsung for it's quietness)
$100 Case
$$$$ Video Card
Most of these parts I have already. My friends or families usually have me build them computers, so I get to upgrade for cheap, selling them my parts. The video card I haven't bought yet since I don't plan on buying until Crysis. So $1,200 for a PC but really only the video card price I will attribute to gaming since I use that computer for everythign else except gaming (music, downloading, home theater PC, video conversion, video editing, etc.) and actually haven't even played a game yet. I know there are some out there but I have an old 7600GT in it right now waiting for Crysis, the first game to get me excited. But like I said bioshock looks good (PC) and if Mass Effect goes PC I won't have to buy a 360.
But since I have a job and can afford all of these toys, I'll buy an Elite, since I think the white 360 is horrendous looking. My front projector has a vga port so I don't need the HDMI port but damn if the black doesn't match my system better.
Hopefully when it comes to the pc, it will have more then a 4 on 4 multiplayer.RawDeal_basicIf you played enough Gears, you would know that 4v4 is perfect for the maps that are in gears.

Look, if it weren't for me, my friend would have bought an Alienware PC.
You hermits can spit out how cheap PC gaming is to what people say, but it's not going to change the fact that the majority believe PC gaming is expensive.
It's like the whole argument "TV adds 10 pounds". Due to the TVs of old, people looked a lot larger than they usually were. Hence, you had to be underweight to look "normal". With the advent of flatscreen televisions, and newer cameras, that problem is now gone. Yet people still thing the camera adds ten pounds.
