Thats why I braught it up... because they both have pro's and con's its just that a Punto cant keep up with the Ferrari in terms of speed and power (refering to graphicaly ability).

Looks like it will require a $3000 PC to play the game.

Much like the PC. Most of the time, the latest and greatest cards can't be maxxed out due to the lowest common denominator.

Well, you certainly lied about the $3000 price and you probably need to spend only $800-1000 to play the game on highest setting. And you don't have to play on the highest setting cause you could play on medium settings with 1280x720 resolution at 30 fps with an average PC because that's how X-box 360 users played the game. Well, some didn't have 720p televisions.

It's not going to make FIFA 08 look like the 360 or PS3 versions. At all.

Not everyone is going to have a 8800 the moment it comes out. People are still on the 6 series or 7 series. When the 9 series comes out, those on the 8 series won't be bothered to move along.

Yet the 9 series is apparently 3x faster than the 8 series, but developers can't use all that power to the maximum potential, because of those without the cards.

I can't get into the technicalities of it, but I thought that was common knowledge?

Q6600 is the best option imo. It can easily overclock to mor ethan th $600 QX6850 and it only costs about $300ish i think...

For me Halo 3 is more impressive looking than Gears, it has far bigger levels, draw distance, nicer sky, better effects, lighting. Gears has amzing textures but it only has a few enemies on screen at any time and there is no action above ground level or fancyeffectslike Halo 3, that's the price for those textures I guess.Nick-M40A3

Which is funny cause Halo 3's textures are more consistant. The Storm for example, before you reach the ark...look around at the roads, hills, etc...those are 2048x2048 normal mapped textures and they are a beauty....

To handle gears at 360 level would require a lower end C2D, 1GB ram, and at least a 7800GTX/7900GT/8600GTS/1800XT level of card.

Thats my guess...and to max a C2D @ 2.5-3Ghz, 2GB of ram, and a 2900Pro or 8800GTS.

Thats what happens when people dont have something to back their argument with.
