Gen 5 Pokemon Starters

Why does everyone hate the fake screens. I actually wish the Panda was real...along with the Scorpion...maybe. The dolphin is just weird.

I'm pretty sure those aren't the real ones. lol

Those are most likely fake since they look nothing like the official shadows.

I personally think the Scorpion looks badass and the Panda is okay.

No idea what the Water type is supposed to be. But at least they don't look all cutesy like the 4th gens.

I actually wish they were real.

the thing about pokemon starters for me is that they must go through a 3 phases.

1. somewhat "cute" or babyish but still intimidating

2. meaner and tougher

3. hugea$$

Charmander, squirtle and bulbasaur all had that. They were cute, but not too cute, especially the ways they were originally portrayed. cut out all that special add-on transformation bull**** to get the girls or the really young kids (though it definitely worked). remember, Pikachu was a freaken rat ball with yellow fur. it was ugly as hell when it was first shown, before all the anime makeup.

cyndiquil i wasnt a fan of, but it turned into something worth reckoning with. Totodile fits the bill. chikorita i hate with a passion, and if it hadnt turned into a big dinosaur thing, i would despise it even more.

generation 3 is where it stops sort of. i mean, mudkip was alright, is 3 stages fit well. but then the other 2 went for the small, "pikachu" effect where its size and well, physical build didnt seem to change. Treeko didnt change much each evolution. torchic wasnt intimidating at all, and its 3 evolutions were some ugly chicken/ human combo because they realized that no one would really want a chicken. i mean, if it had become some bad@$$ dragon bird, i would have been, alright.

generation 4 im really not a big fan of. It basically only has small pokemon. and its evolutions just looked uninspired. the monkey (the one i chose in the game) just grew bigger with different accessories. The turtles is basically bulbusaur but looks like a, well, i wont say it... and the penguin is obviously put in there because they knew it'd appeal to, well, almost anybody.

the thing is the later generations' starter pokemons just started to lose their charm. they lost their wow factor, from training them from things half your size to 5 times your size. they used to go from pets to behemoths. now, its like, great, an evolution, i hope its stats rose. In the past, you could tell they kick more *** the moment their outlines appeared after reaching level 30 whatever it was.

whatever, just my opinion :)

the panda one does look good. it would be awesome imo if it was like grass and fighting. someone did a good job making them look real

Well it's nice these aren't starters. I kinda like them, as I said, but as starters they'd be weak. I can't see a good evolution form for any of them. I'd like to see them appear as wild Pokemon in the game though.

I rather take fire ant and grass panda over these. Seriously, what exactly is the fire type? A cross between a beaver and a bear? I don't even want to know what the water type is suppose to be.

Idk man.. people always say "the first is the best" I honestly don't get that. Same goes on with OoT vs TP, the latter is clearly better but it's just the impact of the first game that leaves a strong memory behind I guess

The green one looks quite cool but I can't really make out the other ones properly to decide.

Green panda/racoon hybrid is cool. I usually go with grass starters anyway, so that's cool with me. The blue one looks like Latios's bastard child.

I've always loved pokemon. Its probably because i'll buy any pokemon game. It doesn't matter if its a good or bad game.
