Give me 3 reasons why MW2 is so ''awful''

Its the only Infinity Ward game thats been met with so much hate and criticism across the board. Now its suddenly cool to praise Treyarch since the big scandal. COD4 was widely considered a breakthrough hit, so surely its sequel should get something right?

Please indicate whether you're commenting on the single or multi-player. I have COD4 on the 360 and I've never played it online because I'm on Silver, but its still one of the best FPS's I've ever experienced.

So whats the big deal?

I hated the multiplayer. The thing was so glitchy and the perks were so cheap.

The only valid reason is "I hate it because they made it accessible" imo, you should've included that!

I loath the campaign in Call of Duty games, there is only one way to do anything and if you don't do it that one way it cannot be done. Plus the story is just S-T-U-P-I-D, stupid.R3FURBISHED

Generally it seems people have a hate based in emotion for the game, due to it's popularity. Same thing happened with Halo a while ago.

Way imbalanced kits as seen here

heres why i hate Modern Warfare

- game starts

- one dude on my team says "everyone go to the glitch by the garage"

- next thing you know, everybody in the game is walking in the air sniping people at spawn points

- this happened almost every game i played

- trade in 1 day later

The MP... Ugh.. Its all just one op weapon and perk after another. Favors campers more than any other shooter ive ever played. The single player was meh and over before you knew it

People love to hate popiular but flawed games. They want to be with the flow of system wars. MW2 is not so awful, I bet you 75% of the people who have sayed MW2 sucks havent played it. YEs COD4 is better but seriously there are much worse game out there. AND MW2 online aint glitchy, its just laggy and stuff, The perks are hardly cheap.

To put it simply MW2 took what COD4 did and went in completely the wrong direction. first lets take the single player in cod4 is was a very grounded, simple, but effective way of telling a story. you weren't some super solider brute. MW2 you see yourself being an uber supersoilder scaling an ice shelf and destroying an entire base all while escaping but jumping a 100 foot chasm i'm not saying it has to be realistic cause all know that COD4 skirted the bounds of realism fairly often but MW2 never even enters the realm of realism after the opening segment. next their is the MP which is the bigger cluster **** imo. COD4 had what any good multiplayer game needs and that is balance. It doesn't matter how many feature and "revolutionary" things you have if it isn't balance people won't have fun. MW2 kicks balancing to the curb with longer killstreak that PROMOTE CAMPING, one of most hated weapons in the game "noob tube" is still there, they added perks like commando, marathon(in COD4 but overkilled it in MW2), and light weight which means even skill-lessed people who can't shoot you can run around the map forever faster than anyone and knife you from a room away couple this dual wielding weapons that and you have a hot mess. MW2 isn't hated just cause it's popular(which i won't deny does happen) it's hated because it took all that was great about cod4 and completely screwed it up big time

Lag,.. often and extreme.

Auto-aim... pervasive.

Graphics... ugly game with poor color palette and lousy lighting, this allows people to camp practically anywhere because everything blends in with everything.

Gunplay, no kick/recoil, all weapons feel the same.

1. The campaign was dull and boring. It tried to be complicated without thinking about it's plot holes, and it seemed you were the only person that could complete a mission objective.
2. Spec Ops was fun for a while. It became boring over time way too fast.
3. The multiplayer is just broken. Full of glitches, killstreaks are over used, no gun has any decent amount of recoil, and the maps are pretty awful.

Those are my reasons.

I came home from college the other day, and my little brother showed me a "hacked" game where the Nuke Countdown was set at an hour, matrydom deaths spawned AC130 explosions, knifes could kill from several yards away, and just a lot of other random things.

He explained to me that this basically infected his 360 and persisted until it was powered down.

I've only played the campaign of MW2, which I found to be dull simply because I didn't really feel invested in the story. Bored me to tears.

The multiplayer - from what my brother showed me, shows a lack of quality control and just didn't seem fun at all.

Is dual wielding shotguns in sp consider to be awful? cause thats all I got

3. P2P on PC version

4. Paying for map packs

5. Buggy as hell

6. Overpriced for all these issues

7. 360 version had a "virus"

This game reeks of cheap kills and makes things way too easy. The game essentially promotes camping with the crazy overpowered killstreaks. Once players get one going they don't wanna lose it so they camp in order to increase their survivability rate.

It's not awful,but it's not as good as COD 1 or COD 4. It falls under uninspired and dull territory like COD 2. jg4xchamp

People who think others hate on MW2 just because it's popular could not be more wrong. It's a bad game, plain and simple. Here's a handful of reasons why...

The single player compaign is awful. The story is so bad, it feels like it's straight out of some terrible 80's action movie. Russians invade the US and take over the White House? Give a me a break. It also has an awful sense of "pacing" and never gives the player room to breath or take in what's going on. Every single second of this game is putting the player in a situation where there are tons of explosions and bullets being thrown at you, and you can't stand still for one moment without being shot or bombed. The game is a sensory overload and tries to throw as much crap on the screen as possible in attempt to make the experience "intense". It's like being inside the brain of kid with ADD while he's simultaneously having an aneurysm. Oh, and the single player is 5 hours long.

The multiplayer is awful. It encourages spaming and camping in order to achieve kill streaks. The game punishes the player for the mistakes his team makes, not the player himself. The weapons are unbalaced. The perks take away any skill required to play the game. Crappy matchmaking. No dedicated servers. Lag. Poorly designed maps. Have to pay $15 for a new map pack.

1) Broken multiplayer with the PC that is extremely laggy and full of hackers and glitchers that cannot be banned.

2) Unbalanced weaponry and perks (e.g commando + marathon + tactical knife and SPAS-12 with grip and the fire more accurately from hip perk.)

3) Deliberately cutting out community mods so they can profit off overpriced DLC.

4) 'Is not balanced for lean' -Infinity Ward
