The game looks 20x better in progressive scan on an HDTV, which those screens ain't.Zeliard9
you can't tell progressive scan in screens..... anyway: ANY PS2 game is crawling with jaggies. The game looks very good, and much better than 99 % of all Wii games, but posting obvious promotional screens is pretty dumb if you ask me.
And ps2 was out for how many years before it reached that level? Yeah thats what i thought.groudyogre
Unless you are admitting that the Wii has no more power than the PS2 that is not a valid argument. They are 2 different generation consoles that should not have comparable graphics. Does GoW2 come close to the best 360 or PS3 games? no, because they are the next cycle in the console generation and the PS2 can't come close to graphically competing with them no matter how long it's been out. If the Wii has twice the power of the original Xbox as is claimed it should be capable of beating any PS2 game easily.

Wii doesn't have any new hardware features like PS3 or X-box 360. There are no hidden powaz for teh Wii! But I think that Metroid looks better than God of War 2.

Stop making things up, no one ever claimed this. They said it has twice the power of the GC.

My bad then, but the point still stands if it is the Xbox or Gamecube.

Playing as PS2 game on HDTV will bring out even more jaggies an streatch out the textures.
It has 480p support, man. If you have component cables for your PS2 and turn progressive scan or, or have a PS3, the game looks great on an HDTV, even a big screen. MP3 looks fantastic, but I don't think comparing God of War 2 to it visually should be seen as some kind of insult.

which isnt that impressive
GoW is SOOOOO good (except the se* and too much blood, the se* was unexpected) and the graphic definatley is the best ps2 game , but there are a few problems, i'll compare it to prime 3. GoW has so much action that the framrate drops occasionally while prime 3 is always silky 60 fps. GoW's draw distance is nothing compared to prime 3's draw distance, u can see other parts of a planet in prime, artistic is a tie, pushing hardware to it's limit is definately GoW2, enviroment is definately prime 3 , and lightning effects r prime 3, so prime 3 basically wins in almost everyway,
on a technical level...um no.
GOW 1 and 2 both look brilliant and are great achievements technically. the games are also great fun (i dont like most scrolling beat em ups but GOW is the exception).
however on a technical level...we donyt even need to look to the wii liberary. zelda TP on the GC is technically alot more demanding and sophisticated. its not too hard to make gorgeous visuals when u restrict the camera to only what u want the player to see. in GOW the player has next to no control over the camera. this means that the devs can really cut back on alot of detail without the player noticing. instead of having a whole building in memory...they migh only have the front of that building in the PS2 memory. they can really nip and tuck at the levels and free up alot of resources that way...so they can go a bit crazy with the detail and special effects (of which GOW has both in spades)
zelda TP is a different fishy alltogether. the player can look whereever he wants at any time. nintendo couldnt cut back on the level data or texture data without the player noticing. so the GC has alot more demands put on it to render those levels. then take into account the number of enemies the game can have on screen (usually 5-7), all their routines and the size of some of those levels (hyrule fields is absolutely massive with no loading screens) and its clear that the game is putting alot more demand on the hardware.
so technically TP on the gamecube is more impressive. PS2 would not be able to run TP without some compromises. artistically....well thats an opinion (personally i prefer GOW...i love the greek art. TP is just a little too brown imho) but technically TP requires more of the hardware and is more sophisticated.
[QUOTE="samusarmada"][QUOTE="Click_Clock"]Red Steel said no.
Ontain
not a proper screenshot
niether are the ps2 ones.
exuncly, 2 wrongs dont make a right. next thing you know, we'll be using concept art as ownage.
[QUOTE="butteater86"]God of War 1 sucked and so does the second one. Why you cows like button mashing so much I'll never know...nivet14:lol: God of War was one of the best games ever made.
haha if u say this game sucks, u dont deserve to play videogames

^hes right.
Fake screens because they are not running on the PSP's screen resolution.
That's like saying a Wii game runs at 1080p.

o well, better to be corrected by me than someone who will start screaming
SELF OWNAGE!!$!@#^one. :)
^^^^ Those are Gamecube screensWilly105honestly i cant tell the difference. I dont know if you're trying to defend the gc or the wii or whatever. Seriously I have no idea. I'm trying to defend twilight princess, which I think matches GoW2 in the graphics department and then some
To topic starter:
You dude, have no idea what you are talking about.
Artistically , maybe it may look good than many Wii games, but technically, haha, definitely no! Those pics has "last gen" written all over them.
Tell me just one technical detail that impressed you on those screen shots. I bet you cant.
Just look at these and compare then:

Just saying. Gamecube can do that, Wii will do better.
haha, sure. Zelda looks better, MP3 looks better, SSBB looks better, SMG looks better.
Besides, crysis pwns all, have fun with your graphics
