A fantastic game with great sales, bring it on. I personally dont see why people are buying the game though, as it screams weekend rental to me (not an insult to the game quality, I think the same thing about Alan Wake). designer-

Saying a game is the best selling ALL gen is way different then saying The game is best selling HD EXCLUSIVE game IN THE 1ST HALF. Because Halo 3 is the TOP seller THIS GEN while GoW3 is the top seller of nothing. Nothing will outsell halo 3 this gen except ANOTHER Halo (that will probably be reach)

I already explained the reasoning behind Halo 3.

Pointing out the best selling game of each genre is common practice.

Pointing out it is on a single platform is understandable (since comparing sales of a game on multiple systems versus a game on a single one is usually unfair).

Being specific about Halo 3 serves the purpose of rising the question "how much would it have sold if it were on multiple systems". It helps keeping things in perspective.

Pointing out resolution is neither common practice nor serves any purpose.

It's like saying "PoP is the best selling cell-shaded game". Pointless.
