God of War 4 out on September 2012 ?

God of War 4 will launch in September 2012, a UK game magazine has claimed.

Kratos' trilogy may be over (or so they say...), but the God of War series lives on, and there are rumors that Sony and developer Sony Santa Monica will be unveiling the next game in the franchise. So it means more epic is coming thats cool more exclusive for Playstation 3 :D

Don't really want this. GOW3 was kind of a dissapointment. Just leave the series be.

I hope not. God of War 3 was good, but I'd rather see a new IP from SM. Or a new Heavanly swords !!!!!

The problem is that Greek mythology is arguably the most interesting setting. Norse would be cool but it's a little too Thor'y . Cristian mythology would be cool but I would never expect to see that ever happening. Maybe Mesopotamian mythology, Gilgamesh.

Just Epic........but i think that GoW4 it will continue the story from the GoW3.Kratos in the end didn't died......Kratos Lives.

They should just release it now for 20$ and just have the first 2 or 3 levels.. cause the GOW games always get progressively worse from my experience.. Idk it seems like they put way more effort in making these awesome intros and everything after seems rushed. Especially in GOW3, the game was garbage about half way through till the end

There's always been a potential sequel, on the extras on GoW1 there's the story of Kratos' brother who was seperated from him and died, wreaking havok in the underworld he seeks revenge against Kratos for abandoning him. This was also hinted by Zeus, in GoW3 I think when he mentions "The other one".Fleeboi

GOW1 and 2 kicked ass.3 didn't.

My rant on the game:[spoiler] 1. story is the exact same
-someone betrays Kratos right as he is about to 'win' at the beginning, gets sent to hell (sans powers), work the entire game to get back powers and back where you were
-looking for pandora's box...again
-get 'new' blades...again
2. Action is the exact same
-same exact way of fighting same old enemies (skeletons, cyclops, harpies, minotaurs, etc)...nothing new
...but it is easier, especially the 'challenges'
3. Items are mostly the same
-same weapons (bow and arrow, blades, wings, golden fleece, helios' head replaces the Medusa one, only hermes sandals are new)
-magic is scaled down though. one spell per weapon
4. story starts good and trails off
-Kratos gets all emotional towards the end
-...blah, blah, blah, "hope this, hope that"...is not Kratos (I am exaggerating here. not THAT bad I guess)
5. Short Game
6. Puzzles are the same
-move cranks here, slide blocks there, use wings to glide w/ steam
TBH, GoW II should have been about 5 hours longer and included this...Part 3 is really a drawn out expansion pack of part II (but way better looking) [/spoiler]

God of War 3... one of the games I was hyped for this gen that ended up disappointing the crap out of me. Aside from certain wow moments, the game was a poor successor to God of War 2.

That said, I'm not interested in a 4th game unless it's done by David Jaffe or Cory Barlog.

More GoW? Can't complain as long as they keep up the good quality. I wouldn't mind a character with a llttle more range of motion either.

I think initially they were ending the series. Then some people realised that it's too good to let it die so soon.

As much as I love God of War, I don't think another game would be a good idea. I don't think they could take the story much further than they already have, so I'd rather they work on a new IP.

Interested to see how they would take the GOW franchise after GOW3... has me a bit stumped on where the **** they would go. I wish the awesome folks at SM would just create something new. Stevo_the_gamer

We really don't need a fourth one. Go work on something else for now and perhaps you can revive Kratos again somewhere down the line.

They make very good hack n' slash games. The combat of GOWIII was excellent and it truly showcased some cool stuff and there isn't another game to rival it. Bring on GOW4 I will gladly welcome it

GoW3 was a big disappointment but still anawesome game overall,

I'll buy4 regardless of pretty much anything,

I wish instead of the HD collections they had remade the the PS2 games and PSP games in a similar fashion to Ninja Gaiden Sigma then they could put in some of the lost levels.

I would love to see that happen... It's kinda a shame he left Santa Monica after GoW.

He also said his version of GOW III was killing Zeus at the start. Then the game plays out as other gods from different mythology have seen the gods of Greece fall they try to move in and take over the area. It has Kratos battling a lot of variable enemies from different areas. One of the fights was supposed to be Kratos vs the Sphynx in Egypt as a living creature but Kratos uses medusa's gaze to freeze it and thats why it sits where it is today.

To be honest Jaffe's version sounds much more fun and hectic

Will it still take place in greek mythology? The new main character is probably gonna be some young teenager thats "misunderstood", "moody", "darker" and "angst". They'll model his face after Robert Pattinson. :P
