God of War IV Outed by Mo-Cap Animator

I think we all know a God of War 4 is inevitable. Now all we need to know is will it be a PS4 launch title and the story.

God of War IV Outed by Mo-Cap Animator

God of War IV has been heavily rumored for some time now, and a recent LinkedIn posting by a mo-cap animator only serves to further solidify our suspicions. According to David Thornfield's profile on LinkedIn (via VG Arabia), motion capture work is currently being done for God of War IV as well as a new Medal of Honor. As one might expect, Thornfield has since removed the information from his profile, but we managed to track down a cached version of the page and have also included a screen capture of the original post below:

As you can see from the posting, Thornfield is an employee of "House of Moves" and has been working on the game since November 2011. It is also important to note that he is working on both the new Medal of Honor and WWE 13 so it is hard to gauge exactly how far along Kratos' next adventure actually is. Sony still has yet to confirm the existence of the game, but it's fair to assume that if they don't announce something within the next couple of months, we'll likely see the big reveal at E3.

Heh. I thought they were primarily a Maya studio, but they ask for Max experience. Edit: NVM, hes just listing his work experience lol.

Anyways, I just hope they can get the gameplay up to par with the production values this time around. It sucks that one of the most well presented in the genre also happens to have some of the worst gameplay. GoW is still destroyed by hack and slash titles that came out almost 8 years ago.

Its a shame. God of war 3 had an awful story and poor design. If Jaffe isnt part of it then I expect to see the quality of god of war 3 all over again. Plus everything dies in the end of Gow3, I dont see how they will make a 4th one without further butchering an already broken storyline.Androvinus

I want to see them keep the GoW feel and all, but certainly give it a bgi makeover and switch the story and main character. At least the story. I love the GoW series, but it has some annoying things that I would love to see dissapear, and it definitely needs a bit of change.

With how poor God of War 3 was I will remain 100% unhyped for this one.

The story and such was best in 1, but I think pretty much everything else was better in the others. They are all pretty close though in my opinion.

Its a hack and slash with below average gameplay. GoW1 was outclassed before it even hit store shelves. Its excusable since it was the first in the series. Now Santa Monica has years of experience with the series and more than enough time and money to do something good.

Turning up difficulty doesn't make poor game design better btw. And when did this become about difficulty? A game doesn't need to be tough as nails to be good, but whatever.

You said you button mashed your way through it - I suggested you turn up the difficulty if you feel you can expose the flaws in the gameplay. I can look away from the screen and do the flying swallow over and over and beat 90% of Ninja Gaiden - doesn't mean the gameplay is weak. If you wanna button mash go ahead, the combat isn't Dynasty Warriors FFS.

Now i can exhale and go to sleep.

GoW3 was my first and only GoW game (well I played a bit of the collection, but not much) and I really didn't like it. The combat was so ridiculously shallow and the environment so samey that by the 3rd hour the rest was just a monotonous slog.

Awesome game, though a bit boring at times in the middle, and the story is a bit stupid, but that ship sailed with 2 :P. Still a very fun, very beautiful, and very epic game that deserves the 9 it got.

You can gtfo son. I have over 1500 hrs invested in the 3d Gaidens. You are full of ****. Even imps will reverse FS if you spam it. Most enemies will block it unless staggered, even on normal. Only the weakest fodder Ninjas in NGO and NGS will fall for it constantly. Most bosses block it and many will grab you out of the air and kill your ass.

Build an argument then. I know exactly how you would do it as I have been arguing against trolls regarding GoW since the first came out over 6 years ago. You came on the board and said 'game is a turd' just like the 100s of other mindless trolls and fakeboys.

As you've already said, you haven't said sh!t, you've built no argument. What am I avoiding failing to refute? What have you produced in this thread that is worth a damn? You failed to look all all aspects of the game. You haven't addressed the puzzles or bosses of GoW. 'it has bad gameplay lololol'.

I can show you flaws and exploits in the gameplay of Ninja Gaiden. I don't have a capture camera though, however I'm sure you can find videos on youtube of just what I'm speaking of. Even if you say its only possible in Sigma, then are you submitting that the gameplay is sh*t?

I can't decide which game I love more between 1 and 2. God of War 3 just can't compare. Don't get me wrong. It was a fantastic game. It just lacked the "soul" the first two games had. I know that's a cheesy way of putting it but that's how I felt about it.
