If you're upgrading, yeaaah. If you're buying new? Nope. Wait until 4-6 months after the next console cycle.

Right now is the best time to move to PC gaming in years. Sure, there are graphics. But PC gaming is getting a huge boost to gameplay oriented titles from a lot of indie developers that complement graphically rich games quite nicely. PC gaming offers a lot more than graphics. Merex760
Agreed, more people need to realize that...

Thats 24 months minimum. Seeing specs of the new consoles would be helpful tho... Ideally you'd buy something well beyond the next consoles, but if MS launch a console with the best single GPU you could get, thats not gonna happen. Would suck to buy a new rig and have a console outclass it in a year, but waiting 24+ months isn't good either.

Responses to people:

To the guy that said I don't know what bad graphics are: I had an Atari and NES as a kid, so I know about graphics. One thing that was actually nice about old tech was the analog video and smooth scaling. I really hate jagged edges on non-AA digital video.

The CPU is stock and comes with a heatsink. I also already have an Antec Sonata case from years ago. I don't foresee much reason to overclock the CPU since games are generally limited by the GPU, but if I decide to I can always order an aftermarket cooler then.

To people saying to plan based on next-gen console specs: that's the reason I went for the GTX 670, 'cause there's no way that the consoles will come with a GPU better than that.

To the one that said I should only build the PC if I also use it to mine Bitcoins: lolwut? (But I do get your other point, and of course I use my computer for more than games.)

[QUOTE="theafiguy"]I'm noticing a distinct lack of a case or heat sink in that build, but the rest of it is awesome.Merex760
Heatsinks usually come with retail processors, and are more than fine unless you're looking to overclock.

Heatsink/fans that come with the new Intel K-series processors (SB/IB) are decent enough to allow you to overclock well above stock speeds. Some people are able to get 4.6GhZ on the 3770k with the stock fan.
