You should get a PS3, but still get your 360 fixed if it is under warranty. I'd get it fixed then sell it with your games. With everything you have it should cover the cost.

I'm not shipping it off to get it fixed...AGAIN. I'm sick a tired of this thing bricking on me. Three times in two years is not good. I have a decent savings account. I'm buying a PS3 on Friday. Yeah RROD really does suck. Mines started to make weird noises last night while playing ODST, and I literally just got my Xbox back like two weeks ago from it's last rrod. Actually it was e74, but they do the same thing:bricking.

What I don't understand is why everyone wants to bust his chops you all assume he is making it up why is not like RROD isn't well documented. None of you if he is lying or not so think how you all would feel if you had the problem and everyone call you a liar.

I had mine RROD twice (I'm on my 3rd xbox) and each time i stuck it back to MS by buying an arcade, swapping the internalls, and then returning it with the RROD internals. Screw their warranty department and their referbs.

You mean an online account handle? Jeez, no wonder. I don't have one. Never did. Gaming online is something I've never gave much thought to. I mostly play with my wife and she could also care less. I complain about it costing money because I don't think it should. I can see know why some wouldn't believe me. Sorry about that. I should have mentioned it before.

You do know your level goes up just by reading threads. I was about a level 7 by the time I made my first post - because I just read reviews and forums for about 6 months before ever making a post.

No. It's just observation based on past experience and probability. The only way to prove it wrong is to continue to post, but really, why do you care if we believe you? Yep, the 360 was a rush job. MS didn't even bother to perform any QA on the hardware. It's a shame when manufactures skip QA to rush to market because they "need the profit$!"

MS has a horrible track record of rushing its projects at the expense of quality (Windows 98, anyone?).

About a week ago I got E74 and Microsoft said it's out of warrenty and I need to pay $120 to fix it. Now I've had 4 xbox's since launch and everyone of them never lasted a full year. So I'm not paying $120 a year to get it fixed.

So I sold it to Gamestop for $45 with the controller and 20GB HDD (better than nothing). I got $102 for my broken Xbox and about 6 games, and I put it all on a new PS3 Slim.

Comes on here and rants with just 27 post. I smell a Sony fan boy. Oh I own the PSP and 360 and my 360 has been fine for almost a year. Dust is a consoles worse enemy.

MS really deserves to learn a big lesson this gen & lose a lot of business to what they did to their consumers when it comes to hardware reliability. P.S. i wished the same for Sony earlier this gen... & my wishes came true :P... they lost a lot of market share & hopefully learned a lesson not to take consumers for-granted ever again.

The 360 was launched with a defective design. The proof is in the warranty extensions that MS offerred. No company would offer such warranty extensions unless the product in question is defective and the lawyers are telling them that they need to do something to avoid a class-action lawsuit.

i'm sorry for your situation, but there is no guarantee that ps3 will not have problem at all..someday your ps3 will also got a probelm

your welcome..try to have both console, so if 1 of your console got a problem you still have the other 1 to back you up...when i got RROD, I play my ps3...when my ps3 got a problem I play my 360...& I just share my experience that ps3 problem is not just YLOD, at that time my ps3 can't eject the disc..when I press the eject button the disc just keep inside no matter how many times I press it

I don't think so but you can cut and paste it to your blog and most likely it would be locked because I don't think you're allowed to post "rants" in forums especially in SW.

ME was absolute garbage, they should've never released that. Absolutely the worst OS I've ever used. I still think they should've refunded everyone who bought it there money.

Xbox lovers will die with their console which is fine, i just like to play games, i work a normal 35-40 hour job as staples night crew and the 3-4 hours i get a day before i go back to work if my GF is at work is i like to play games.

It's my hobby so when my system breaks many times i just get fed up so i went on to a system that has very few or no problems and still satisfy's my gaming wants, with the wi-fi and free online just made it easier for me.

I'm by no mean a sony fanboy but i will be accused as one because i gave up on my xbox, as mature and tame as my response is.

Xbox guys wonder why we say all their fans are immature 13 or 35 year olds, you can't talk sense into them. Some you can but at least on these forums it seems to not exsist.

I was just going to bring this up. And whats even funnier about it is that the MCD see no problem with it but when a level 1 first post is negative about the PS3 the entire thread has posts pointing it out that it is a fake account. Sony Wars.

So I sold it to Gamestop for $45 with the controller and 20GB HDD (better than nothing). I got $102 for my broken Xbox and about 6 games, and I put it all on a new PS3 Slim.

The warranty starts over when you get a replacement

Sure I do. My gamertag's in my sig. What would shut many of these guys up is if you provided your gamertag. That should be pretty simple.

the first one got struck by lighting like physical lighting came throw my room a zapped my Xbox

the other 2 got RROD LOL

the one i have now work fine for now LOl its a HDMI xbox tho maybe thoes work better

Yeah, I was wondering that myself. I mean, isn't something as significant as my console dying worth a post more than simply talking about stuff that has no significance?

Like I said before, I don't have one because I don't game online. I'm sure I'm not the only gamer who doesn't play online.

rrod = you aren't taking care of your system properly. Complain when you start getting DREs and freezing issues. RROD is an avoidable issue if you are smart. I am not saying the 360 is a flawless system, ive sent mine in on 3 seperate occasions, but NEVER was it for RROD. It was for REAL hardware issues. AKA DREs and the system locking up. When I worked at Midway, the only reasons we had the RROD was because of shutting the system down improperly. Seriously, RROD is so over blown it isn't even funny. While I don't deny the faultyness of the system (as I can attest to) i guarantee less than 5 % of the problem systems are RROD. Just the only OBVIOUS indicator to point out a flaw to is the RROD, so people end up taking pictures of it, posting about it on a message board, and bam, you have an epidemic. The PS2 had a worse failure rate with its DREs than 360 has with its RROD, yet the RROD is more prominent than the DRE ever was. Want to know why? PROOF that a system died.
