@1080pOnly: I agree. *sigh*

There has no incentive for me to pick up a gen 8 console what so ever, a handful of games does not justify the outlay. Sure I recently spent almost twice the cost of a PS4 on a single graphics card but I am constantly getting new games to play, both multi-plat and exclusives.
At the moment the most attractive option is the Xbox One but I still wouldn't buy one until maybe next year but by then there may well be PC releases announced for the Xbox games I'd like to play. As for the PS4, I have no interest in Bloodbourne and I'm certainly not shelling to play Uncharted collection, Uncharted 4 and Horizon (a game that is likely 2 years away). Certainly not worth the £300 and £60 per game entry fee. I certainly wouldn't use a console for multi-plat's.
Recently I was thinking of buying PS4, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I am PC gamer, so assess consoles by their exclusive lineup. So far, the only PS4 exclusive that interests me is Bloodborne. I had tried to think of something else interesting and currently available on PS4, and I couldn't come up with anything. Seriously guys, what the hell, compared to PS3 PS4 sucks balls. Yeh I know that Last Guardian, Uncharted 4, and Horizon are coming probably next year. The thing is, I did math in my head and was shocked how slowly exclusives are being released this Gen. I mean, cool Uncharted 4 is coming next year, but when Uncharted 5 is scheduled to be released ? In 2018 or something ? Isn't it when the current Gen basically ends ?
On PS3 we had had Uncharted 1,2,3 and Last of Us all in one Gen.
What is the deal with PS4 ? We will only have ONE single Uncharted this Gen, and for Uncharted 5 you will have to buy PS5, is it ?
So what is the reason to buy PS4 then, if at best we are going to have only 6 worthy exclusives for the entire Gen. And right now there is like only ONE noteworthy exclusive, Bloodborne. This is it.
If you have a PC, not much at the moment really. I still have my PS3 and will only upgrade next year when FF15, Uncharted 4 and more come out this holiday. So many great deals on PS3 games now and there is still a huge online base so the fun is still there.
@jhonMalcovich:
You PC guys and gals are looking at the wrong console. The X1 is where it's at if you want exclusives.
'Gosh current consoles SUUUCK'
Really? I would hate to be you, man. These consoles are awesome to me!
Really? If someone were to ask me what game console to get I'd still recommend a ps3, or of course the wiiu.
It's been awesome, with all the no extra charge GWG games offered every month for both 360 & X1 haven't had to buy a new game since Titanfall :P
Ops, I did buy Rare Replay but that was a no brainer.

Going by that logic, Megadrive, Snes, PS2 and 360 would be even better options since they have far more games than the PS3 and WiiU.
But...
...unlike those consoles, PS4 and X1 offer current standard graphics. Games are coming, and to be fair, they library is already very impressive!
If you only own one Console then I think the gen is pretty good, thanks to Multiplats (Witcher 3, Alien: Isolation, Shadow of Mordor, MGS V etc). If you own a Gaming PC and looking for exclusives to justify your Console purchase then, libraries are pretty weak so far. By the looks of it, I'll be picking up Consoles not sooner than 2018-19.
Wii U and PC is a really hard combination to beat this generation. PC also ends up with the console exclusives like SF5, Ryse, No Mans Sky, Shenmue 3, etc. etc. To be honest all you'd really need is Wii U and PC and you got nearly all of your gaming needs covered. And when DX12 becomes the norm, it will be even more difficult to look at PS4/X1 seriously.
Numerous times my wallet and I (well especially I) have been ready to buy a console.
2 days ago I was seriously considering buying a PS4 just to have one. Just to buy one. And I was looking for ways to justify my purchase.
Like family members who might want to use it as well, like exclusives, like the upcoming birthday parties. I could use the controller on my PC.
And yeah, I have never before not bought a console when I was in a mood like that. And I just can't justify it.
This generation, in my opinion, marks the end of the time in which it was interesting for PC gamers to buy a MS/Sony platform. Apparently that is totally not a big deal, but for me it was kind of weird. It's the end of an era in gaming. I tend to have most platforms in a generation, and this time it's totally not worth it.

Couldn't agree more - Past 3 gen's I've had every console going, this time not a one and I'm not even tempted any more. I already stream games from my PC to my main TV and play with an X1 controller (when it makes sense), I have multiple monitors in my office/gaming room (flexibility) and will be picking up a Steam controller as soon as released - there just isn't a single reason for me to buy a console. Heck, I'll even play the few exclusives they have on a friends machine just to remind myself what I'm not missing.
Very soon those gaming on PC will be experiencing the best VR and AR has to offer while the consoles will be stuck with a watered down version for the foreseeable future.
