Got back from playing Brawl and Galaxy on a 73inch Mistubishi 1080p god tv

Wow. Both games look terrible.

The star cursor thing with SMG is incredibly annoying and a terrible gameplay gimmick. I can't believe this was hailed as a great game.

Brawl seems to be a lot like Melee. Bunch of junk dropping all over the place and lame attacks.

After playing each for about 3 minutes I give them both a 5 out of 10.

It's kind of sick and sad how highly these garbage games are reviewed. It just shows you how much nostalgia driven hype fuels Nintendo reviews.

If this is the best Wii has to offer I guess I will have to live without NMH even though I am a big fan of Suda San.

I estimate 35 seconds. As an added bonus I reckon he came in with negative perceptions which I believe is a -10 second penalty as well, so 25 seconds. There's also a chance he was counting quickly. If we take his 3 minutes and it out into non-fanboy time I think it comes to maybe even less...possible 2.5 seconds instead of 25 (I assume you divide like that?).

I just find them both tremendously overrated and dated. Having Mario run around upside down in strange gravity waving a pointer around to collect items you throw at stars. I'd rather eat poison sumac.

As for Brawl I never liked Melee so I wasn't expecting much but when I can't even get the character to jump consistently when I press up on the stick I find that to be BROKEN. The graphics looked really washed out. Not good at all.

LOL, well, at least you dug the tv, right?:P As far as your assessment of recent Nintendo first party titles, they have absolutely no appeal for me either. I cannot say much about what they should have been scored though, as I have not played them.

Although, I am eventually going to pick up a Wii, but there are only 2 games right now for it that I want to play, and that is No More Heroes, and the upcoming Mushroom Men: The Spore War, by indie devs Red Fly Studio. Both are extremely off the wall, tripped out, and completely original games. Hopefully the Wii will continue to get more games along those lines, and I will have one sooner, rather than later.

1. its a wii game, you expected it to look great on a big ass TV like that? especily without componate cables.

2. brawl is a lot more balanced and has more charecters and new stages, sounds like most other fighting games so that point is null. the only difference is the items, and you can turn those off if you don't like them.

3. please try to make your flamebait not so obvious.

4. all the above is assuming you actualy played the games...even then 3 minutes isen't enough to get to the tutorial level in galaxy. and you need to get past good egg galaxy before it starts getting a bit less cute and a bit more chalenging.

Im in the same boat but not because the games are ugly. I used to be a Nintendo fan until the Wii. i even beared through GC because of SSBM and MKDD but not anymore. SMG was ok. But SSBB almost made me cry it was that bad. Its exactly like Melee except for that fact that its system's controller sucks for it. So you do what? Revert to GCN controls. Isnt that sad that a system touted for its innovative controller ends up having to use its preceeding system's controls for its biggest release thus far? I find that incredibly sad.

I sold my Wii back in thanksgiving after i found out SSBB was going to be delayed to get a PS3. Ive enjoyed it then SSBB came out and i was like hmmm i loved SSB and SSBM. So i bought a new Wii (my 4th one) and SSBB. Played it for a night and wanted to kill it. Not only was the online play impossible, but the controls stink. The gameplay isnt any different from SSBM the environments are nice. Subspace Emisseary is junk the cutscenes look like something from FF6 on a HDTV. Its just a disappointment. I dont think anything can save nintendo for real gamers who grew up playing great games like Super Mario Bros and SSB. This is a sad day for all.

Can you name two games out of those that have added as much features as SSBB? NONE! If you come to look at it there has only been only 3 REAL Mario 3D Platformers and 1 2D platformers over 3 platforms only 1 each, and the SSB franchise has only made 3, when other franchises have spawned already 5 reincarnations(even final fantasy since FF7) some only through 2 generations only.

whats so wrong with using a traditional controler for a genre that is not ready for motion controls?

the gameplay is generaly similer because its the same seris :/ but it is by no means the same

most enjoyed the SSE, again thank you for your opinion, but don't state it as fact.

most would say its a great day to be a gamer, all it takes is avoiding the shovelware that ALL consoles get *don't kid yourself, all of them have shovelware* guess it sucks to be you if you hate fun and like looking at the prety pictures.
