The prologue of Witcher 2 has been more satisfying than Skyrim as a whole, i'd have to say.
The combat is actually good, and the graphics are great, as is the art style.

I think Skyrim mops th floor with The Witcher 2. The Witcher 2 wasn't bad, but it was a massive letdown. millerlight89
-Crappy combat
-Bland storyline
-Shallow quests, lack of impact on the world
-Meh vanilla graphics
-Repetitive dungeons

What an oxymoron.
Why can't you have an unrestricted RPG?The prologue of Witcher 2 has been more satisfying than Skyrim as a whole, i'd have to say.

Really? I beat Dark Souls last week and it urinates and deficates all over both "RPG's" you mentioned.
They're both RPG's but one's open world and the other isn't, kinda hard to compare.tagyhag
Bananas and apples taste different, but nobody has a problem with my preference of bananas.
Witcher 2 can be a more enjoyable game than Skyrim even if it's not open world. It's not like we can only make comparisons between games with 100% identitical gameplay.
Skyrim feels like a last gen game compared to The Witcher 2. It's not even close.
The Witcher 2 is one of the best games of this generation.

What an oxymoron.
Why can't you have an unrestricted RPG?The ability to choose any role without penalty, without environmental/NPC restrictions, defeats the purpose of role-playing.

Why is being able to choose any role without penalties atithetical to RPG?Speaking from personal experience, they'd be very happy to have played 2 great RPGs in the same year.[QUOTE="heretrix"]

Well, a lot of people here seem to have an overinflated sense of opinion.Cutscenes > forced zoom-in dialogues
Somebody pops out from nowhere and forces you zoom into dialogue mode while enemies keep attacing. lol

Why is being able to choose any role without penalties atithetical to RPG?Becuase that would enable one to adopt multiple roles, butchering the diversity of player-styles (and hence the choices you choose upon your character would lack meaning).

The Witcher 2 was a letdown. My main problem was how cinematic heavy the game was. I read somewhere that the game had over 2 and a half hours of cutscenes. That's just too much. Do people really want to spend so much time watching boring cutscenes rather than actually play the game?GiantAssPanda
Every single Witcher 2 cutscene is epic :P

Nope. The majority is rather boring. The first game handled cutscenes way better. They were far between and actually felt like rewards to the player. In the sequel the feeling is exact the opposite. They are a pain since they're used so excessively. Please Log In to post.
