That being said, demos are meant to be representations of the full product. We can't just dismiss a demo, for that very reason. In some cases, the demo does more harm than good (re: Dead Space :? ).

People will get excited by demos, and people will be disappointed by demos. No matter how you slice it, it's still a representation of the final product.

There's even a disclaimer about it when you play the demo. I can't remember exactly what it says, but I'm sure it says something about not being a representation of the actual game.

The game looks incredible as is. The blood looks fantastic and the lighting effects are great. NAPK1NS

Don't forget Kratos' character model. He really is amazingly detailed. I couldn't believe it when the close-up of him zoomed out and I found out that's actually how he looked in-game.

Get your eyes checked.

If you want to nitpick GTA 4= GTA San Andreas in HD, MGS 4= MGS 3 in HD, Halo 3=Halo 2 in HD, RE5=RE4 in HD, and so on and forth.

NEVER Judge any game by DEMO's or VIDEO's, I've been saying that in SW for years. YEARS.

I remember playing the RED FACTION 1 Demo for PC, and the Framerate was TERRIBLE, choppy, and awful. The actual game looked and played SO MUCH Better, and that was back in 2001ish.

Don't judge by DEMO's of unfinished games, let that be this THREAD's Lesson.

I don't need a threads lesson ;) and we will see how much "better" the game looks when it comes out because I don't think it will improve much

You know how many sequels I've played that was more of the same? Killzone 2 was like the only one that wasn't more of the same.

Not a huge leap in what exactly? The basic gameplay is not going to change radically, of course. If you were talking about graphics I'm just going to pick up my briefcase and leave.Floppy_Jim

yup I'm afraid so...after playing the GOW collection in HD and playin the GOW 3 demo there is not a huge jump between 2 & 3...it's a shame and maybe they will polish it up before release....oh and this is my first time playin the GOW series cuz I was a xbox only owner last gen and they are great games

Let me guess you played GOW collection then expected GOW3(demo) to be totally different, like no longer GOW with big guns, and alien worlds etc. Now that wouldn't be GOW, it would be Halo which maybe you should have stuck to. GOW3 doesn't need to be all that different, it's gonna be the final game in the trilogy and it's better that Sony doesn't experiment too much, just turn everything that made GOW1&2 great up to 11 for GOW3. I don't wanna list everything but GOW3 has a lot going for it and as a GOW fan I personally loved the demo, which is a pretty old build, E3 to be exact. The gameplay is as great as ever and everything just feels right, the final product will undoubtedly be mind-blowing, after all it's one of Sony's flagship franchises and if KZ2 and Uncharted 2 has shown us anything it's that the game will get better and better as months go by.

love gow collection. but really god of war 3 is a step back. no 60fps the only upgrade is the graphics. although the level design of the demo is crap. and come oonnnnnn u STILL cant hav any control over the camera. i think even devil may cry gave us camera control. anyways from the demo i cant see any gameplay improvements but that is not necessary a bad thing. since gow of war 1 still play like a solid AAA game and does not feel one bit outdated. even tho it is a last gen game

As others mentioned the demo represents an old build of the game which imo still shows a huge leap forward in terms of visuals... Also from the time that demo was done till GOW3's release devs will have surely polished the visuals/lighting/textures evenfurther..

Secondly in terms of gameplay while very similar to the previous titles i found the animations were way better, the movements all look so smooth / fluid and the action feels faster...

Imo GOW3 will excel in all depts (gameplay, story & visuals) and surely will deliver upon our (fans) expectations.... but as always happens with all exclusives (on all systems) it surely wont deliver upon expectations from fanboys/haters :)

i said this before in another forum i did not mean that it has more pixels. what i meant the levels look nicer. i said gow3 best of ps3 but i hate the level designs. the level in the demo is too dark IMO it is not eye pleasing. but the night level of god of war 2 looks great, the level design in god of war 2 is better if u want to compare the first level of gow2 and the demo level of gow3. the game looks better.

Well, I wasn't in the GOW forum, so I didn't know what that statement meant. So, I get it, you aren't talking about graphics and pixels, but rather the art design and aesthetics. I get that. :P

All I can say is wait until GOW3 is released before you make your final judgement, that GOW3 Demo is old. :)

I wouldnt base the whole quality on the demo. That being said, I have no idea why cows are hyping this AAAA. It doesnt look that ground breaking.
